The Beetham tour is named after George Beetham who first explored Mount Ruapehu in 1878. He ascended the summit and crossed the large southern glacier. He also studied and recorded the existence of the hot lake in the great ice plateau.  You'll also have the chance to hike volcanic craters, discover the emerald and blue crater lakes of Tongariro and traverse Mount Doom (Mount Ngauruhoe). You'll travel along the Thermal Explorer Highway and experience hot water beach, the bubbling mud pools of Rotorua, Lake Taupo: a crater lake caused by the biggest eruption New Zealand has ever seen, and the snow capped peaks of National Park as well as the North Island's two largest cities.

The Mackinnon Tour is named after a New Zealand explorer and tour guide, originally from Argyllshire, Scotland. Mackinnon emigrated to New Zealand in the 1870s and was employed by the Otago Survey Department to try and find a tourist route into Milford Sound. In 1888 he was successful in discovering a path across the rugged landscape and named it Mackinnon's Pass. Follow in Mackinnon's footsteps and spend two weeks exploring the South Island, taking in the diverse and stunning landscapes, and seeing all the highlights.

The Worsley tour is named after Frank Arthur Worsley a New Zealand sailor and explorer who heroically saved the members of his crew after the ship he was on became trapped in ice and wrecked. He used his strong navigational skills to sail a lifeboat to land and trekked for 36hours to fetch help and rescue the remaining members of the expedition.  Just like Worsley, you'll get out on the water exploring the beautiful Bay of Islands, although have no fear of getting stuck in ice as the Bay of Islands is subtropical year round.
