Hi we had a great time and thanks for all your help. Only disappointment is that we didn't receive the forms to order the jackets and hats but otherwise exceptional treatment and help.
We're proud to have shown thousands of people around our homeland over many years of creating New Zealand tour experiences for visitors from around the world.
Hi we had a great time and thanks for all your help. Only disappointment is that we didn't receive the forms to order the jackets and hats but otherwise exceptional treatment and help.
I was very pleased with the tour I selected. It allowed me to see many of the highlights in the South Island. Nichole was very helpful when I was booking the tour. She was able to answer any questions I had, and she responded in a timely manner. I appreciate the fact that she followed up once we returned home. One suggestion.. the tour ended in Christchurch on a Saturday, I was then travelling to Picton to catch the ferry on Sunday. Our tour bus was going there as well. However, I was not permitted to travel with the group due to insurance coverage. Perhaps, extra coverage could be purchased, so clients do not have to arrange their own transportation when the bus had room and was going to the same place. I would definitely consider booking with New Zealand Coach Tours again. Thank you.
As my first time visiting New Zealand. I was very impressed. The tour guide Heidi Healy and the driver Geoff Painter were both amazing. The tour was so well organised and also due to COVID-19 pandemic, we were always being made aware of what was going on with the tour. Thumps up to everyone, I will go back again. And will even encourage my friends to do so.
I really enjoyed my trip, apart from the early mornings and long days not being able to enjoy the hotels full potential and would have liked longer in each place we visited. Feel it would be helpful that these points were evident when booking.
We had a wonderful time on our coach tour. Our driver, John was very knowledgable and our tour guide, Alan, kept things running smoothly. I would recommend this tour to anyone so you can sit back in comfort and enjoy the beauty of the South Island while someone else does the driving! Most of the hotels we stayed in were very nice and the food was very good. We stopped at many hidden gems while also seeing the tourist sights. It was certainly money well spent!
I have never been on a tour before, it was just great. Alex the coach Captain and Jo. his offsider were both brilliant at doing their job. The information they both had about everything was just great. All the Motels couldn't be faulted, also great meals. Well done.
I really enjoyed the Tour of New Zealand and the support when I was not certain about travelling was excellent. grand pacific Tours were excellent and the tour catered for all.
My sister (from the UK) and I (from Australia) had such a great time on our trip to NZ. We were fortunate in that it was a couple of weeks after the rain storms in the South Island and just before they closed NZ because of the virus! How lucky were we, also with the weather, wonderful sunny days except for one morning!! All the transfers were smooth, the accommodation great and the food - wonderful! Our driver, Andrew and guide Kerrie, were full of interesting information and went out of their way to make the trip enjoyable. It's hard to pick a highlight, but the food at Walter Peak Station was the tops. Loved the Maori Village concert and meal in Rotorua, just so interesting and 'Uncle' John was such an amusing MC. Would have loved to spend more time at Omauru it was fascinating with lots of galleries. In Dunedin, we did the 'Nature's Wonders' trip which was fantastic and the owner is so passionate about it all. So many good things and interesting people, even on the coach. Thank you so much for arranging it all, if I win Tattslotto I will be back. Hope you and the crew stay safe and well.
Olivia and I had a fantastic time on the tour even though Olivia is sight impaired everyone on the tour was so kind to her. Chelsea Lodge was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend your group to travel with Lorraine, Jan and Andrew they were so fantastic. I would like to do that tour again but on my own this time and am thinking of doing that in 2022. Your group and Chelsea are the ones I would like to deal with. A very big thank you.
Our recent New Zealand trip was exceptional....we saw & experienced so much in this beautiful country. Thank you Shelley for recommending this particular tour....was all we were hoping for...would certainly recommend it for those who want to see the BEST of New Zealand!
We had a wonderful holiday. Guide and coach drivers were very knowledgeable. Some of the South Island hotels would have been much enhanced with air conditioning.
Hi Jane, Jan & I loved our highlight tour of NZ, it was so well organised from our airport meet & greet right through to our airport departure pick up. I lived in Auckland for 19 years so new NZ fairly well but for my English friend who hadn't been before we decided an organised tour was the only way to see both islands & get a tour guide's commentary, we thought it extremely good value for the money, all the inclusions were fantastic, as were the optional trips, our hotels were all brilliant, loved the country ones, they added something extra to the rooms to make it just a bit more memorable. The food quality & quantity was plentiful to suit all tastes. I would definitely recommend this company to others.
Thank you, we had a great time, with Ken and the other passages, I can't explain how good it all was, the best coach trip I have been on, so thank you, and keep up the good work.
The tour was everything we had hoped for. The organisation was first class which ensured everything went well.
The most incredible experience of my whole life. As two girls in our 30s, we spent 9 days on this tour with a group of people over 10 years older than us and had the absolute time of our lives. Our driver Kevin was incredible, and knew everything there was to know about the North Island, telling us all kinds of stories everywhere we went and keeping us entertained on the long drives. Jo, our tour guide, was equally as informed and enthusiastic and went out of her way to ensure that the few extra activities we wanted to do were catered for. Throughout the whole booking process we had the amazing Shelley at GP helping us with our daily (endless) questions in a really polite and excitable manner, she never ever made us feel stupid or like we were being a nuisance. I just cannot give enough praise to the whole experience! Thank you grand pacific
We had a great time in New Zealand. The grand pacific 19 day Rail Cruise and Coach tour was everything we could have asked for. Louise answered all our queries about the tour and booking was straight forward. She kept us up to date throughout the whole process and we received a detailed digital itinerary. The Tour itself was very professionally run. The NZ coach captains were great as was our Aussie Tour Guide Kerrie who was friendly and cheerful throughout despite what the weather and other conditions threw at her. She was tireless sorting out options and alternatives for everyone so no one was disappointed. You cover some big distances but it is a great way to get introduced to NZ and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend New Zealand Coach Tours and grand pacific Tours to anyone
Very enjoyable tour with grand pacific Showcase. Excellent coach captains who gave very informative and entertaining commentary, Kevin in the North Island and Alex in the South Island. Well administered by Jo Moore throughout the tour. Very good accommodation and food and perfect logistics of suitcases being delivered and collected from hotel rooms. Early starts could be a little tiring for some, especially if there was an early finish to the day, but overall and excellent tour. Excellent booking process and very efficient handling of our tour by Kasmira Banks of New Zealand Coach Tours.
We all had a wonderful tour with many fond memories. It’s hard to single out specific ones, but the train journeys were superb and the breakfast up the Gondola in Rotorua was memorable, especially with the cart rides down. Thank you all for your hard work in handling the booking. We look forward to our next trip once the virus is under control. Stay safe.
Wonderful company. Great weather. Kerrie, Murray & Peter made an excellent team. Comfort stops and itinerary were perfect.
19-day rail and couch tour was great!! Your country is beautiful despite being desperate for the rainfall. We were happy to visit and enjoyed it all. some days long but expected. Mother nature interfered with a few days itinerary but that was out of anyone's control and grand pacific was willing to reimburse when plans got varied. They were fair to us and did all they could to make it up. Would recommend this company and their drivers, Murray was one of the best you've got I'm sure!! Coaches were kept clean and tidy and most of the meals were very good a few places could have offered more variety at dinners but overall happy with them. We want to express our good communication with the tour office when corresponding (Nisse) prior to the trip was very helpful and provided good and helpful a recommend Kaikoura (up the coast from Christchurch) to stay for an extension post-tour at the Anchor Inn!! The hosts were great Paul & Lyn, 2 thumb's up! for the motel and hosts. would love to come back and see Milford Sound next time round...
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the south island, our tour guide and driver were excellent, their knowledge was outstanding. Everyone got along nicely, the only downside was missing Milford Sound and Lake Te Anau due to heavy rain and flooding. Most of the hotels were great, however, the hotel in Queenstown was too far from the city centre, and up a very steep hill. Walking was a problem and hazard for most of the older group. Paying for shuttle or taxis back and forth adds up, plus we had to have an extra night there due to rain. Other than that, a great trip.
We took the grand pacific Tours 19 Day Rail, Cruise, and Coach Tour, and it was perfect. Well arranged, saw most all the big sights, and really enjoyed the train and overnight trip in Milford Sound. Would highly recommend this tour and the NZ Tour Group. Great job!
Shelley Ryder was incredibly polite, enthusiastic and helpful! Her responses were spot on and immediate. She got us on the right tour and willingly answered our numerous silly questions. She is a great ambassador for New Zealand!
We were very pleased with our tour. The staff was very efficient and friendly. Although we had some problems due to very bad weather on the South Island, they were able to handle all the difficulties with minimum fuss. The hotels and food were good and the tours, when not cancelled due to the weather, were very interesting and well planned. The only caveat is that 19 days on a bus is hard on the backside!
I would like to thank you for your expertise and help as Consultant for my recent tour “19 day New Zealand Showcase". I was always kept up to date with the lead up to my trip and all my queries were satisfactorily answered. The trip itself was wonderful however I did have a few negatives. The hotels in Te Anau and Twizel were very outdated and needed much work. However, except for one hotel (can’t remember which one), all the beds were very comfortable. The hotel in Franz Josef was superb. Sadly some of the buffet dinners were very ordinary. It would be nice to have a couple more menu dinners instead of the buffet. On previous tours, the tour director is normally the one giving commentary not the driver so I found this a bit strange. A suggestion would be for soft background music on the bus when no commentary is given. Unfortunately, the visit to the geothermal pools and geysers was a bit of a disappointment. Doing the tour by cart should have been an option as not enough time was given to explore the park so we missed out on a lot. Too much time spent at the school. I understand some people may not be able to walk the distance but a choice to walk or go by cart would be more acceptable. Then to meet at a given point and time for the hangi concert. I must say the hangi feast was fantastic. The time spent together with lunch at Hobbiton also a great day. Perhaps one more day in Queenstown as it is the Adrenalin city would be good. Also it would be nice to have at least one drink (beer, wine or soft drink) provided with dinner, anything after that at one’s own expense. All in all though I had a wonderful time with a near-perfect itinerary and look forward to returning in the near future.
We enjoyed the most wonderful tour of New Zealand travelling with grand pacific Tours. Our particular tour included Rail, Cruise and Coach which showcased the highlights and more of your beautiful country. The itinerary was excellent with plenty of comfort stops and nice little towns for lunch on route to the next destination. The tour guide and coach drivers were very informative. The coaches were first class, well maintained and comfortable to travel on. We had a great crowd of guests on board, We all got on very well with lots of laughs and banter. The choice of hotels was in most cases excellent, situated in good locations making it easy for us to explore the cities on foot. The food in all hotels was extremely good with a wide range of dietary choices. We would not hesitate to recommend grand pacific Tours to our Family and Friends. Thank you for making this such a memorable holiday.
Thank you, Nichole White, for all your help making me comfortable booking our New Zealand adventure with this previously (to us) unknown company. The grand pacific Small-Group Ultimate Tour of New Zealand was beyond our expectations. The company made sure that everywhere we went, the group received exceptional priority and extra care. All of our guides were great and even the weather was perfect. It rained only one day-- when it needed to, to turn on the hundreds of beautiful waterfalls in Doubtful Sound. Travelling with a small group meant we got to know everyone, which made things great fun. I only wish grand pacific did tours in America, as I would book with them every time. Thanks again! We wouldn't have had this experience if YOU hadn't made us feel comfortable with your helpfulness and prompt communication every step of the way!
We have finished our tour of New Zealand and I just want to say how fabulous it was, in all ways, Tour Guide Jo Moore, Lindsay and Peter, our bus drivers, the hotels, food and the beautiful country that you live in, the incredible scenery, culture, specifically the walk-in showers at each hotel, And so much more! Will recommend grand pacific to anyone enquiring and also the ease and help I had, doing all the arranging online, so many great pointers, to get me going in the right direction, all very much appreciated. Thank you again, for a wonderful, easy way to book such a great holiday.
This was our third trip to NZ and it was great. The scenery and places we saw were memorable and we hope to return for another trip in the future.
This was a fabulous trip. The accommodations were top notch and the food delicious. Every small detail of each destination was completely covered. The bus driver was amazing! Since he grew up on the South Island he knew and shared a lot of the Island’s history. We really enjoyed out tour and will recommend it to anyone heading to New Zealand. We feel we got a great value for the price
Kasmira, the 19-day bus trip that was booked with your company was just great. The North Island venues were very interesting and a lot of fun. Transit to the South Island was also very interesting and entertaining. It was just like being home with the Canadian Rocky's, the Foot Hills outside of Calgary and the rolling wine country similar to our vast wheat fields of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. So all and all you did provide the service on the extra tours in Auckland which were enjoyed as well. So a job well done and I will recommend your company should any of my friends decide to come to New Zealand for a tour of your interesting islands. Cheers for now.
We both had a great time on the tour. Our bus driver Geoff and guide Nick were amazing in the South Island... Geoff was hilarious. The hotels were all good... although breakfast at all wee very redundant.. it was like eating at the same hotel every morning. The sights in the South Island were spectacular. The meal at the Col el’s house in Queenstown really stood out. Wine hour discounts at night were much appreciated as was the unlimited WiFi except in Dunedin where it was a limited offer. The north island was great also although in a very different way... we really missed the natural splendour. We met some great people who we will keep in contact with. The last night in Auckland with the people leaving there was very nice. We had booked the extra night thru New Zealand Tours as we were heading to a cruise on Dec 2. Our only issue there was that our room keys stopped working for the second day so we had to renew and they wanted to charge us for breakfast on Dec 1st which was to be an included breakfast... it took a while but was finally removed from our charges before we left on the 2nd. All in all a great time.
Both my husband & I have absolutely enjoyed our 10-Day South Island travel with grand pacific Tours! Many thanks to Kasmira for the very efficient and friendly way she has handled our booking :-) I have previously done a tour of the North Island also with the grand pacific Tours, was very happy with the tour and it was for this reason why we went with grand pacific Tours when we wanted to see NZ South Island. We were not disappointed at all! Though we had some long hours of road travel, witnessing all the majestic scenery really made us in awe of the beauty of the NZ South Island, spectacular indeed! We would definitely recommend a trip to New Zealand to relatives and friends, and advise them to book their trip with New Zealand Coach Tours :-)
Wonderful trip. Wonderful country. Well organised with great hotels and meals provided. Enjoyed the company of people on the tour. Driver and tour host were professional and friendly. Not having to deal with own suitcases was wonderful. We went through the Hawkes Bay wine region but did not have a wine tasting event - shame.
I would like to thank Nisse so very much for her helpfulness, attentiveness and efficiency. Nisse was always available to answer any questions and responded promptly. The experience exceeded my expectations, and all of the grand pacific staff were amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend New Zealand Coach Tours and grand pacific Tours. Thank you.
grand pacific Tours was an excellent match for our needs. A few suggestions for the company is to have WiFi on their coach. I also think the coach should provide the cost of water within the tour. I would also ask the coach driver to speak a little slower since it was sometimes difficult to understand the driver. However, the driver was superb. He was helpful and accommodating. The tour guide representing grand pacific was a gem. We couldn't have had a better guide on the trip. He always was so interested in attending to everyone's needs. There were a few hotels on the trip that didn't rise to our standards and we noted them on the evaluation form that grand pacific had provided. All in all, with Rommy Fisher's guidance, we couldn't have had a better holiday!
A well-organized tour is only possible with folks like Katie and teams who put things together with thought dedication and professionalism. Every aspect of the trip was exactly what I expected it to be, made sweeter by the congeniality of the guide and coach captain. John & Gordon are assets to the industry. Thanks for making my visit so memorable.
We had a wonderful holiday and were very impressed with grand pacific and New Zealand Coach tours and will gladly recommend to our friends. Well done all!!!!!
Hi Nicole The title of the trip says it all, New Zealand's South Island is indeed spectacular. We enjoyed our tour very much, the scenery was beautiful and the people we met were wonderful. We took many pictures and made many memories. Our thanks to you Nicole for your patience in answering our many questions about the trip and then arranging for additional night stays at both ends of the tour. It was a pleasure dealing with you.
We had a great trip and enjoyed seeing beautiful New Zealand immensely. Everything was so well organized we just relaxed and enjoyed the sightseeing and tours.
We loved our tour of the South Island! The guide and bus driver were great and very knowledgeable. The scenery was amazing. We even had good views of Mt. Cook. The weather was good until the last 2 days when it rained nonstop. We missed some experiences due to weather, but overall we quite enjoyed the trip.
We had a delightful time on the grand pacific tour. Every day presented new opportunities to discover and experience. Our drivers and our guide were first-rate, ever conscious of our needs and worked tirelessly to make our experience special. We bonded with our fellow passengers and were sad to see them part from us. I would have no qualms about recommending this tour to anyone who wants to taste New Zealand for themselves.
grand pacific's 19 Day Ultimate Rail, Cruise and Coach Experience was a really terrific tour of new Zealand's North and South Islands. Kaz Banks gets a high commendation from me for the wonderful job she did in handling our booking, keeping her eye on the ball and making sure we were kept informed on every detail of planning and itinerary. The tour itself was of extremely good quality. Every aspect of itinerary, organization. group management, accommodation and food was attended to with the needs of the customer as priority one.The beautiful coach so impeccably driven and cared for by Roger deserves a special mention Indeed, this tour rates very close to the top of the list of all the tours my wife and I have undertaken over the past thirty or so years. Thank you to all involved for ensuring that our travel experience was of such excellent quality.
Thank you very much for arranging our tour. Every thing ran smoothly from our first contact with you to the transfer to the airport in Auckland. We would have no hesitation in recommending both your company, especially yourself, and grand pacific. A lovely country and a very memorable holiday. Special recognition to Dennis the Tour Guide and Peter and Lyndsey the Tour Captains. Thank you again and best wishes to all involved.
Our trip went smoothly apart from an unexpected illness from John on the night of the banquet on the ship. Several people, including our "fearless leader" Chrissie, helped his recovery, She was a tower of strength throughout the whole of our holiday. Our witty driver Ricky was full of information as we travelled as well as helping at stopping places The only criticism that we got very weary of the many short trips when we had to pack and unpack our belongings at the stops we made. The food was great, the bus was great and the countryside was wonderful.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Tour - it was everything I had hoped for. I think we were lucky having only 24 on the tour as everyone mixed together. Raewyn, Andrew & Kevin were excellent, helpful & informative - altogether a very enjoyable holiday, Jenny
Kia Ora! Gaetan and I were very happy with our wonderful trip to New Zealand, even though mother nature was not on our side. Our photos will have nothing to do with New Zealand publicity, but, we have seen its magnificence and travelled over 6200 km on both islands, which was more than expected. I was more than satisfied with Nichole White’s help in planning this trip, she was keen to answer all my queries and did so efficiently and promptly. She made this trip worriless. We enjoyed every hotel stay except in Omarama which was very basic but I think it was the better option in the area. For us, the highlights of the trip were the Canterbury plains, Dunedin, Queenstown, Milford Sound and Fiordland for the South Island. We did not get to see Mount Cook or Fox Glacier because of cloudy weather and rain. For the North Island, I would say Rotorua, Lake Taupo, Auckland and definitely Paihia and Russell. The weather was sunny and warm. Every place had its own particularity and we appreciated that very much. This tour was very well organized by grand pacific Tours. Everything was on schedule and we never had to wait for our hotel keys, they were ready upon arrival, which was great. We had no surprises with anything on our tour, everyone did what was expected of them excellently, that is our coach captain and our tour guide. We knew what to do and what was expected at any time during the day. If you want a trip with great quality and no worries, I would strongly recommend grand pacific Tours and would also suggest you contact Nichole White for your planning, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks again for all your help. grand pacific, we felt we had a good quality/price ratio for this tour. Thanks.
Calder and I loved every minute of our tour. You had preplanned it with us perfect to the last. Return flights were very early but it worked well and we were able to return home in the hippy shuttle bus. Jo and Alex did a wonderful job taking us around the magnificent South Island. They are great people and the best I am sure at their jobs, hotels food bus company all good and worked well to make everything go smoothly. The train and boat experiences added variety and interest to the scenery that speaks for itself. Nice breaks and free time to explore and time for extra activities if needed In all a must-do tour. Thanks for everything.
Kia Ora! Mike and I were very happy with our trip to New Zealand. I was more than thankful to receive help from Servanne for our tour of New Zealand which was my dream. We enjoyed every hotel stay. We cannot think of a favorite place because we love them all. My husband would like to have stayed overnight at Mount Cook and I kind of agree with him versus Te Anau just because the Mount Cook area seemed to have more for us to do but that’s us personally. If you had a 0 to 10 rating, it would be 25. Servanne was more than helpful with any questions I had any time I emailed her ask. She sent us reminders and items for us to prepare perfectly for our trip. We lacked nothing, we had no surprises with anything on our tour, everybody was in place when they needed to be and we knew what we needed to do every second before, during, and after our tour. We would do a tour with grand pacific again and we are certainly going to recommend them to our friends. Thank you
Fabulous tour. Had a great group of Aussie and Kiwi people. Coach Captains and Tour Guide were fantastic. Best Tour we've ever been on.
The only way I can describe my experience on this tour is to say it was one of the best ever tours I've taken. I've long hoped to visit New Zealand, and had it not been that I was searching for a company to use to book 2 clients on a South Island tour, I wouldn't have been in touch with Kaz, and with her encouragement, I signed on for a single-share, for the 19-day Showcase tour. For the most part, there is very little I can comment negatively about. grand pacific Tours personnel presented a fabulous product. The Coach Captains and Tour Guide were the star performers. I would highly recommend this tour to any first timer visiting New Zealand.
Oorganisation by you - excellent. The driver and guide - excellent. The hotel accommodation - excellent. The NZ south island country - excellent. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
The tour was great. The natural beauty was amazing. The coach was extremely comfortable. The driver/guide was professional and very knowledgeable. Dinners ended late and we had to go to bed right after it because of early mornings. Hotels, for the most part, were excellent. Some had a small heating unit that didn't heat both the room and the bathroom. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent, but we were in a dairy producing country and there was no non-fat or low-fat yoghurt, which would have been nice. Overall, it was a very enjoyable trip.
Our tour was amazing Nichole was so helpful a great asset to your company. My sister & I would like to thank all those who made our trip such a wonderful experience.
The tour was very good! Accommodation was good loved the hotel in Napier. Loved our tour guide and driver. and the Transfers were good.
The grand pacific 19 Day NZ Showcase was exactly what we wanted to tour NZ because: it was long enough to get to most of the country it was geared toward really learning about the country the pace was appropriate with a few double nights at the same hotel the food was varied and quite good; there were enough opportunities to eat on our own all the tourist highlights were visited the GP guides and drivers were accomodating, friendly, and authentic. An extra kudo goes to our South Island driver whose name escapes me now who got us off the west coast JUST before the washout of the Waiho River bridge March 25th and thus enabled us to complete the itineraries AND not lose three days stranded there. Your office handled all of the paperwork efficiently, thoroughly, and was available to be phoned any time I needed you. I also appreciate Britt's replacement dealing with additional charges that Air NZ wanted to charge us for changing flights when THEY had changed the flight times which required us to change plans. And she also secured a late check out on the last day in Blenheim before flying to Auckland to return home. Thank you for a wonderful 50th wedding anniversary holiday. Diann Eiserloh
Beautiful country and I would revisit. Thanks to Shelley, all the details of the trip were well organized and this made for smooth, fun travel.
We toured the North Island, wow, what a fabulous area. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We met some great people. I would like to give a big thank you to grand pacific Tours for looking after us so well.
What a wonderful trip, in my life I have traveled to 33 countries. No trip has been as nice as this one. I have rode many buses but never a better driver than Andrew in the South Island. Our guide Barb was great we never had any problems at all. The timing for the trip was perfect very little bad weather and the foliage was beautiful with snow on the mountain tops, it was great! We choose one optional tour that was a bust and I would not recommend it to anyone, it was the (Awesome wildlife tour) in Dunedin. I would do the trip again if the airplane ride wasn't so long. Thank you for all your efforts.
I would like to thank Brigett for organizing my fantastic holiday she went above and beyond, being so helpful and accommodating. The bus I was on was filled with the best 48 people I could possibly have asked for.
The South Island tour was wonderful even though the bridge went out. grand pacific handled that well! The hotels were wonderful as was the food. Thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all the Aussies! Great group of people! Chris was wonderful and did a great job of keeping us informed and moving! Good guy. Our bus driver on South Island was great too! The bus was in great shape! New Zealand is beautiful, the people are very friendly and you have a great government! Loved New Zealand!
Thank you for arranging our tour. It was most appreciated. Our tour director John, was a perfect gentleman, most helpful and added to our experience. He was always there to help us off the coach. Our coach drivers, Kenny, for the North Island and Andrew on the South Island, were full of knowledge and were masters when it came to their ability to drive. These three men made what was a good trip into a fantastic adventure. All our accommodation was top notch, and meals great. Breakfast was a buffet with many choices and usually dinner the same. We had great weather and many places of interest along the way. We enjoyed the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, Maori Hangi at Rotorua and Hobbiton. Wonderful boat trip at Milford Sound. Took a helicopter ride and landed on a glacier, which was a great experience. Enjoyed Arrowtown, in an old mining area. Also went to the glow worms caves at Te Anau. Our last night in Christchurch, we had a private room with entertainment which finished our tour off very well. Met so many friendly people on our tour. I would recommend this tour with grand pacific Tours to all.
Kia Ora Shelley, Thank you so much for your help when I called you last year. I didn't know where or when to go or which trip to choose, but you spent the time to explain all the choices and the things that we really should see on our trip. The 19-day trip was just perfect, and we saw so many things on both of the islands. We were able to add some extra things while we were there and we were also able to just take some time and relax when we had two nights in a hotel. Most of the hotels were top notch, and the tour guide and bus drivers were excellent. When the itinerary had to change because Typhoon Trevor wiped out the Waiho bridge to the west coast, our tour director made all the arrangements to change our accommodations and provide alternate activities for our group. All in all, we had a great time and met some really wonderful people along the way. Thank you for your help!
I had a wonderful time in New Zealand, the North and South Islands are so different. The North Island is very much like the east coast of NSW and very beautiful, I loved the Bay of Islands. I did prefer the South Island with its spectacular scenery.
A well organized tour. Will recommend this tour to our friends. Thank you for making our tour so simple and easy, and we really enjoyed listening to our tour leader and made sure everyone is comfortable and relaxed, most of all took lots of photos for memories to enjoy and look back. Thanks for the memories.
I really enjoyed all aspect of the tours - from the first contact with grand pacific Staff to the competent bus driver and guide. It was interesting to observe the amount of organization that took place to accommodate (tourists) needs and expectations. The restaurants and staff rated well overall. My fellow passengers were friendly and inclusive and I would highly recommend your company to friends and family.
Chelsea you did a magnificent job organising our first tour ever, we had a wonderful experence and can't thank you enough for all your help, even booking online I had never done before. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
We had an amazing experience. New Zealand Coach Tours did a magnificent job of setting up a tour we will remember forever.
We arrived home after an amazing Holiday in New Zealand. We were very fortunate as the weather was great, hotel accommodation and meals also. We had two very safe and knowledgable coach drivers, a different one for each island, and a tour director that was a perfect friendly gentleman who made sure all ran smoothly. The crossing of the strait was a very smooth sailing, and at Milford Sound, it was a very sunny day that allowed us beautiful photos and a helicopter ride landing on a glacier. We met some very friendly people from around the world. On the last night grand pacific Tours gave us a dinner, with entertainment, in a private room. It was enjoyed by all. Thank you so much for organizing the holiday for us, it was most appreciated.
We found the tour of both islands very well organised. Overall, we enjoyed seeing all the sights and found the meals very good. Both coach drivers Chris in the North Island & Riki in the South Island were excellent. Also, our Tour Guide Alan Chadwick was very caring & explained everything to us.
The 19 day tour was an amazing experience for us. New Zealand is really a scenic country. But we must say that the service we received was above our expectation. The team, from the tour guide to the drivers are performing their duty well. Apart from being informative and knowledgeable, they show enthusiam in their work and were always ready to help. Well done. The activities arranged are entertaining mostly, some we liked very much. We feel that we have make a good choice to join in this tour of your company and would recommend this to our friends too. Last and not the least, thanks to Christina for your helpful attitude, quick and unfailing response to answer any query.
Our trip exceeded our expectations. New Zealand truly is a beautiful country. We are so happy to have booked with grand pacific and loved all the attention to details. Our tour guide and driver made a wonderful team as they were a wealth of information and shared entertaining stories along the way. We did miss seeing Milford Sound because of the stormy weather but we did see hundreds of waterfalls that not everyone gets to see. There was a plan B and everything continued to go well. We are now talking about returning as we have certainly had a taste of New Zealand. I can heartily recommend grand pacific tours and the friendly help of New Zealand Coach Tours, always prompt in answering my questions.
We had a fantastic trip. All the tour staff were amazing and everything worked smoothly. Thanks for everything.
We had an amazing tour..sunshine and no wind or rain for the whole 10 days! Brian is THE best bus driver ever and so knowledgeable about all aspects of New Zealand! Leanne was very helpful and brought such a relaxed atmosphere into the group. The North Island is still waiting for us and we hope to be booking with you again in the near future, would certainly recommend grand pacific to other friends and family.
My niece, Lauren, and I had an absolutely FABULOUS time!!! Your country is an amazing place! The people are wonderful and the landscape beautiful! It was a dream come true for me as I had been there 48 years ago and wanted to see how it had changed - and changed it has. When I was there in the early '70's Auckland had one tall building--the Intercontinental Hotel and many small colourful homes for families to live in. We went to Hobbiton, the Glow Worm Caves, and I went on a wine tour while Lauren went on a Canyon tour then hiked off the gondola for three hours in Queenstown. We loved all of the many and varied tours planned by grand pacific, especially the Milford Sound cruise where the Captain pulled right into the base of the waterfall! We stopped at a castle for a tour and tea and scones--YUMMY!!! In Queenstown, we took a cruise on a steamship to a plantation where we had a lovely dinner and sheep demonstration, including a shearing. Rotorua and the geysers, mineral baths, and mud pits were fascinating. I loved seeing Wellington and Dunedin which I had never been to before. The food was fantastic and bountiful--breakfast was always a typical English breakfast plus many other things on a buffet. Dinner was a variety of entrees with all of the trimmings and some delicious desserts! I got reacquainted with "pavlova" a favourite - I couldn't get enough! I think I gained 10 pounds! Our guide was awesome and took care of our every need! She was delightful and had a wonderful sense of humour. Our bus drivers were amazing drivers and great storytellers. We learned SO much about your country through their commentary. Thank you New Zealand Coach Tours for all you did to ensure we had a beautiful, safe, and AWESOME trip!
Just looking at my pictures again of our tour in March. Great memories of a fabulous trip!!!
I realized that I forgot to mention Chelsea, our booking agent, in my review! Thank you, Chelsea, for doing such a wonderful job of helping us plan our trip! You always explained how things worked and answered my emails and phone calls so promptly! You took all the stress out of planning such a far away destination. Thank you for making our trip a dream come true, Chelsea! You, your company, and the people of New Zealand are the BEST in the world!!!!💝
Thank you for an amazing trip of both the North and South Islands. The Itinerary was full but very enjoyable. Maybe a few additional 2-night stops would ease the early morning starts.
This was our best trip ever! We love everything about your country. Everyone we met was so welcoming. We enjoyed learning about the history of how New Zealand was discovered and how the Maori people migrated to this island. We saw the most amazing scenery from the most northern part of the island, Cape Reinga to the southern island where we saw some amazing mountain ranges, waterfalls and glaciers. We were so spiritually touched by the Maori people that my husband and I both had Ta Mokas (tattoos) done in Queenstown by a Maori artist. We will always remember our wonderful holiday, as well as, all of our new treasured friendships we made along the way. We would like to thank our Tours drivers and our tour guide for the making our trip such a memorable one.
Well, we arrived in Christchurch to a wonderful welcome. Straight to our hotel the Distinction in Christchurch, What a lovely hotel! We could not fault it, the hotel itself was beautiful, the food was great. The next day we had a great train ride up to Arthur’s Pass that was spectacular. The Scenic hotel in Franz Josef was even better, very friendly welcoming. We loved our coach captain and our tour guide. Overall our trip was a great experience we loved every minute. Good memories.
Everything was clearly explained, contact was easy, decisions straightforward from deciding what we wanted to making payments. All the information arrived in a timely fashion and experienced no issues from booking to arriving and enjoying the tour.
We both enjoyed the tour very much. The hotels were pretty good, as was the food and we had some wonderful experiences.
Good communication with Heather and other New Zealand Coach Tours staff made the booking experience positive. The tour was well organised and professionally delivered. The majority of the hotels were very good, however. The selection of food at all the hotels was first class. Overall, the holiday exceeded our expectations. Congratulations to all concerned.
This tour gave you a very full outlook of New Zealand both North and South island. The drivers were very informative about the local areas you passed through. I can thoroughly recommend this tour to see most of New Zealand very comfortably.
The trip was fabulous! All the arrangements were outstanding. We could tell that great care was taken to choose the best hotels for the budget in each area. Peter, our bus driver, was not only an excellent driver, but he and our guide Chris were quite the comedy team! The two of them were very knowledgeable about the areas we toured, and the local stories added a great deal to our enjoyment. Our travel specialists were very professional, easy to communicate with and extremely patient with our many questions! I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is planning to visit New Zealand.
This was one of the most special tours into an area of spectacularly natural beauty, guided by a very knowledgable driver/guide. All the accommodation was well received. We look forward, at some stage in the future, to returning and visit other aspects of the Southland. Thank you.
We loved all of it.
Wonderful Trip. All accommodations were as described, our coach captain was fantastic, keeping us laughing at every moment while on the bus. Each of our destinations were well planned, lots of fun and interesting. Our bus drivers were particularly helpful. All in all, I would recommend this trip for anyone wanting to see a complete New Zealand. One thing I would have liked to see on this trip was a visit to the Kauri Tree Forests in the north of the North Island. But I realize that time was limited. Again great trip and wonderful coordination.
You were very helpful and the trip was great. The people of New Zealand were more than helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our travel mates. The coach was well designed and we enjoyed moving seats from day to day allowing everyone time at the front and back of the coach. I did not enjoy the lengthy random stops for coffee and shopping. I personally did not want to shop my way through New Zealand and would rather have stopped for a break, bathroom, coffee or lunch and then back onto our designated major area. More time in the city with hotel facilities would have suited me.
I had a wonderful holiday, everything was very well organised down to the last detail. Hotels were very good. Food and service at all the hotels were excellent. Our coach tour and driver were well organised, friendly and helpful. My fellow passengers were all friendly and good company. The scenery is wonderful and I took many photos! Thank you again.
My daughter Heather and I could not have been more pleased with our 14 day tour. Barbara our guide and Mike and Steve our drivers made the trips in the coach informative and entertaining as we enjoyed the amazing landscapes and unique features in your beautiful country. When we encountered a change of itinerary due to a slide over our route, New Zealand Coach Tours allowed us a wonderful change and brought us to the Hermitage Hotel and the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Center, which we much appreciated. Our travel companions were a congenial group that made the experience even better. Thank you for taking care of us so well!
Thank you for all your help along this truly incredible journey. It seemed like every time we ran into a little bad weather we were on the bus but when we got to our destination it cleared up. The bad weather going into milford sound let us witness a true wonder of nature with all the waterfalls. I must say that the entertainment at the farewell dinner was a perfect ending to the trip of a lifetime. Thanks again for guiding us along.
Marie and I had a wonderful experience on tour in February. Our guide Rae Moors and our driver Rod were excellent and ran a well-organized trip for all. As New Zealanders they added a lot to our knowledge and enjoyment of every place we visited. The itinerary and hotels were expertly chosen. We definitely would recommend this tour to our friends. Thank you for helping us with the arrangements! You were helpful every step of the way!
I had an absolutely fabulous time. Kevin our driver was an excellent driver and he and Richard worked in well together. Our tour group was good - in part because of the humour and relaxed manner that Richard and Kevin displayed. They were able to assist me to choose a tour I wanted to do on my free day in the Bay of Islands which I greatly appreciated as tours suggested in the booklet had not appealed to me. I am so glad I chose this tour!!
Thank you for all your help and making our trip such a success. It was a wonderful experience, our coach was fabulous and I would never consider anything but the ultimate. Our driver Linda was amazing. Food, for the most part, was exceptional. Accommodations, very good, not all five star but they were acceptable. All of our extra or optional tours were fabulous, only wished I’d of taken one more, the flight over Mount Cook. All of your extra arrangements worked out fabulously. You were such a pleasure to deal with and Rosemarie and I thank you immensely for our wonderful experience to New Zealand. My brother now can’t wait to do the same trip. Thanks again.
I would like to thank you for your great service. The whole trip when without a hitch from the day I arrived until the day I left. The tour was magnificent and I would recommend it to anyone interested in going to New Zealand. Your constant emails, follow-ups, itinerary, hotel lists and much more that I required was a great help and appreciated. I would recommend for people interested in any tour in New Zealand that they book their travel with your organization. Your web site, the registration, payments and follow-ups were all simple and easy to use.
John and I thoroughly enjoyed the 19 day tour. We went to the most amazing places. It's difficult to choose the highlights as the whole experience was amazing. We flew over the Southern Alps, went on a cruise on the Milford Sound to get close to waterfalls, went on a Jetboat and a Duck. We also went to Hobbiton, rode on gondolas and had breakfast on top of a mountain, and we attended a Maori Hangi and concert. We were very fortunate with the weather, (our Tour Guide said that it was the best view of Mount Cook she had ever seen.) We have lots of beautiful photos of our best holiday ever. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you for your great service. The whole trip when without a hitch from the day I arrived to the day I left. The tour was magnificent and I would recommend it to anyone interested in going to New Zealand. Your constant emails with follow-ups and all the information I required was a great help and appreciated. I would also recommend that any person interested in any tour in New Zealand book their tour with your organization. From your web site, the registration, payments and follow-ups were simple and easy to use. Again thank you for your professionalism that made this trip so much better.
Everything was well organised. Thank you for giving us great memories.
This was a great holiday. I was very impressed with grand pacific. There were several totally magical days on both the North and South Islands. The food and hotels were excellent. The day trips were very well chosen. I would highly recommend this tour.
It was fantastic, on the whole tour everyone mixed very well, the guide and drivers were very knowledgeable, and a great laugh. I would recommend and use again.
One of the best vacations we’ve ever had. The “Ultimate" bus was amazing as were all accommodations, food, service. Everything was perfect. Couldn’t ask for a better way to really see New Zealand.
All we can say is “BRILLIANT”. From the original contact with Narissa right through, the whole thing was handled with expertise, helpfulness and courteousness. The trip itself was well beyond our expectations. New Zealand and its people were friendly and welcoming. We will be back.
Shelley was really helpful in advising me of tour options and keeping in contact along the way so that I was fully ready for my trip. The grand pacific 19 Day New Zealand Showcase that was recommended and which I ended up doing was wonderful. The company was extremely professional and efficient. The guides and drivers did their utmost to make sure the clients all had an enjoyable time. The guide, Brenda Taylor, was particularly approachable and helpful. I couldn't recommend this tour and GPT highly enough.
An extremely well organised experience which met and exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail was excellent, even down to the planned comfort stops. The commentary from our guides, and particularly the coach captains, were both informative as well as entertaining. The excursions, both included as well as optional, were well arranged to fit into the overall itinerary, and offered something for everyone. We certainly took part in some thrilling trips which we might otherwise have missed out. Given the time available, we certainly covered a lot of ground, and very much got a good taste of New Zealand.
We came back recently from our 19 days tour of New Zealand (both islands). We had wonderful time. All arrangements from Narissa Phipps and grand pacific were excellent. Our tour guide Brenda was wonderful and helpful at all times. I will recommend my family and friends this trip with great joy. Thanks Merai
Excellent service from grand pacific. Booking was straightforward and efficient. Tour was of a very high standard. Would thoroughly recommend this tour
We had a fantastic time on our tour. Our guide Paul was fantastic. He shared his love and knowledge of NZ with us and made the tour special. Both of our coach drivers, Lindsay in the North Island and Peter on the South Island, are absolutely the best at what they do. This was our first visit to NZ and we loved every minute of it. Our tour took us to all of the great and scenic spots and included lots of diverse experiences that we would have missed had we gone on our own. The logistics, hotels and meals were also beyond our expectations. Thank you very much grand pacific!
Very helpful. Cannot say anything negative about the booking or tour itself. All good. Many thanks
We recently returned from the grand pacific 19 Day Ultimate Rail Cruise and Coach Trip and it was fabulous end-to-end. It was a real treat to be in a small group and luxury bus. A regular 48 seat bus custom fitted with only 20 “business class” seats (10 per side). Linda was our coach/guide and she was tremendously knowledgeable and took such good care of us end to end. Narissa of New Zealand Coach Tours helped us with our booking and itinerary and was a pleasure to deal with. This was a trip of a lifetime. We highly recommend both grand pacific and New Zealand Coach Tours ! If you are thinking of going, book early as the trips sell out fast ! Great value for what’s included and the quality of the travel, hotels, included tours, meals etc.
All the arrangements went like clockwork. We had no problems, even me with my broken ankle, and were so well looked after at every stop. I would heartedly recommend grand pacific tours to anybody visiting New Zealand,we have a myriad of good and happy memories of our tour. We benefited from a well planned itinerary with appropriate time allocated for each visit all except for Napier where we really did need more time to do it justice. Maybe leave out Masterton where time dragged? Our driver, Megan, was excellent along with Brenda who completed the team. We had a wonderful visit and have a far greater understanding now of New Zealand and it’s people. Thank you to Amanda and team at New Zealand Coach Tours.
That was the most amazing trip!!! Far exceeded my expectations. Nothing to fault and can't wait to do another one.
I give your tour a 5 star overall rating. The coach was superb. The South Island hotels were very good and dinners enjoyable. Not happy with George in Christchurch when we returned there as they charged 15 dollars for a sparkling wine and don't fill the glass full! North island hotels and food was great. On the last day in Auckland, going round the city was left to the very last. After the visit to kauri museum - my personal opinion - would be to reverse the schedule and finish on a high note after Kauri museum. Our guide and driver Dave Underwood was ultimate!! He was simply the best - meticulous, considerate and his dedication to good service excellent. Lastly if you incorporate contact with New Zealander's on the trip- a farm stay, a family dinner- might enrich the experience. We would recommend to family and friends NZFT AS TOPS!
Your help in arranging a brilliant NZ holiday was definitely 10 out of 10! We had a lovely attentive & informative coach captain. The grand pacific Ultimate Tour itinerary was excellent and we would highly recommend it. The quality of the coach and standard of accommodation and meals was also excellent throughout. Kind regards & thanks
Really loved this tour! It was well prepared, well planned. Every time I had a question, or a comment, it was answered quickly. I can't wait to go back, and use the same services! A first rate operation.
Everything was fine. We enjoyed very much the tour. New Zealand is wonderful country!
The entire tour exceeded our expectations. The hotels and meals were excellent. The entire tour was well organized and the tour guide plus the coach driver were excellent. The additions to our tour itinerary were very good and we especially enjoyed the Northern Explorer.
I had a fabulous time - bit too much travelling on the bus - needed to be more days where we spent 2 nights in the one place
Enjoyed the tour very much and NZ exceeded our expectations. Tour was well run and coach drivers and tour guide were excellent. Some of the added extras were too expensive for our budget.
From the organization of the tour, the attention to details and the timely answer to all my questions, I probably spent one of the best vacations ever. Enjoying a very comfortable coach with large windows to admire the scenery, I also appreciated so much Brian, our guide who took extremely good care of us. Caring and so patient, he was the perfect companion for all of us. Present each time we stepped out of the coach, asking for news, giving us all the necessary info and very knowledgeable about everything we saw and visited was amazing! Thank you for this fabulous trip! Loved every minute of it!
Very satisfied with all arrangements
Nice to hear from you again and thank you for every thing you done for me from booking the holiday and keeping me informed start to finish. Also it was nice talking to you on the free 0800 number from the UK it is more of a personal touch than an email. As for the holiday it was amazing and everything went to plan, you have such a lovely country i did not want to come back home the only down side was the flight it was a killer. The sight seeing and hotels were first class and the food was fantastic. The south island is so dramatic compared with the north its a bit like the Scottish highlands as we were heading from Franz Josef to Queenstown the heavens opened up and i have never seen rain like it and it went on for 24 hours but it did not affect us as we were on the coach to our next hotel. The coach driver Linda was fantastic I got on really well with her and because I am an early bird and was up and down for breakfast every morning at 6.30am Linda used to follow shortly afterwards so we used to have a good old chat before the other 13 came down - she did wind me up about the All Blacks beating us at rugby though and was all in good fun. As I said its one holiday I will be talking about for a long time to come. Thanks again for all your help.
Just wanted to let you know how pleased my brother and I were with the grand pacific Tour we took on your recommendation. It was great in all respects. The guide Lorraine Alexander was friendly and well organized. The two coach drivers were excellent drivers, knowledgeable about NZ history and the flora and fauna we encountered. The accommodations were fine and the meals superb; especially breakfast. I'm in a scrambled eggs coma! We encountered some difficulties due to the weather but the guide and driver coped with barely a hitch. The road to the Fox Glacier was washed out so they took us to the Franz-Joseph Glacier instead. The Trans-Alpine railroad was washed out so we took the coach back to Christchurch. The Arthur Pass was washed out so we diverted to the Lewis Pass. The tour Schedule was maintained! Finally, the other passengers were totally friendly and congenial which made the trip most welcoming. Further, the South Island is a jewel. The driver (Geoff) told us that New Zealand had fourteen National Parks. My brother's observation was that the whole South Island was a National Park.
My grand pacific 9 Day Taste of the South Island bus tour was perfect in every way! The bus was very comfortable and clean. Every hotel was very nice and provided excellent service and meals. The locations we visited were absolutely beautiful at every turn. The coach driver (Riki) and tour guide (Dave) were wonderful. They made our trip very enjoyable and took pride in showing their country to us. The activities included in the bus tour added to the value and my personal experience. I loved every minute and hope to return one day!
It was a wonderful experience, especially the South Island. Our bus driver Ricky was very knowledgeable and the tour leader Dave organised everything really well.
Every day was a wonderful experience. Such knowledgeable drivers and first class treatment all the way. Took a number of the optional tours and they just added to the whole experience. Thank you for a great time.
Very well organized. Very good hotels and dinners. our tour leader and driver were excellent!!! Words are not enough! Thank you for everything!
An absolutely fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone. We will be back to do the North Island with grand pacific!
Thank you for your excellent service it made the whole planning and booking service extremely easy. the trip was fantastic, I loved every minute of it. Thanks again.
Your prompt and efficient service was very much appreciated! Had a great trip overall- met some lovely people and our driver David Underwood was competent, knowledgeable and good company. Loved the Ultimate Coach concept and will be unlikely to travel any other way in a coach!! New Zealand was the star, without a doubt!
Thank you Sarah for doing a sterling job on my recent "Taste of the South Island" tour which went wonderfully well. Highlight was the helicopter scenic flight over Lake Tekapo and all the friendly, mainly Australians on board. Was very memorable, including the rather too early starts some days at 6 a.m. wake up!! Food was wonderful and accommodation very nice. Thanks again for your enthusiasm in making my booking and trip go without a hitch. I was glad to pre-check that the helicopter ride was covered by my insurance policy!! I fully recommend this tour, along with the excursions at each destination.
Our holiday in NZ was memorable with so many highlights. Most of our accommodation was very good and their beds were very comfortable and warm. All our meals were outstanding with so much to choose from with their appetising menus. Our buses were very comfy and having alternate seating each day was a great idea.
Our tour guide Chris was wonderful - very caring and did everything he could to please his passengers, nothing was a trouble and his attention to detail 2nd to none. Your input and planning was excellent, there were no hiccups, all managers of our motels etc greeted and welcomed us on arrival at our destinations, keys and baggage available within minutes. We were not pressured to do optional tours, always our choice and our group were very happy, we met some delightful people, some of whom we will stay in touch with. Weather was great, bus was warm when it was coolish, as was our accommodation. Loved seeing Carving School and Meeting House, concert, farm entertainment, Maori Hangi etc probably highlights in the North island. Highlight in south was the Cruise on the TSS Earnslaw to magnificent Colonel’s Homestead and their gourmet barbecue!!! The food and venue were a great surprise and it was just lovely. I think I have just about covered it all. Thank YOU once again
Hi Natalie, We had a great time. We had a great group of people on the tour and made many new friends. We had two every good drivers and a very good tour guide. Thank you for recommending grand pacific, great company to travel with,so attentive to everyone's needs. Thank you Sheryl Reynolds
Our grand pacific Holiday was really great. Most of the planned trips were really good. The tour guide and coach drivers were also excellent. All in all would definitely recommend - thank you.
Wonderful tour - all the right tourist spots - great commentary and excellent meals.
We were lucky to book the trip through Erynn. She was very helpful and made it very easy for us to chalk out the whole trip. She even helped us with our itinerary after the trip. Our trip was great. Very well organized. We felt welcomed by the whole crew. Again thanks to Erynn for making this experience enjoyable and memorable.
I would like to thank Natalie from NZ Fine Touring for organizing our recent NZ Holiday with grand pacific Tours. We had a fantastic time, beautiful scenery - very green, amazing locations & very friendly staff, especially the tour guide from grand pacific Tours who went above the call of duty to keep us all happy. All of our tours were great, especially Milford Sound and Queenstown, Skippers Canyon and the Shotover jet boat ride were well worth the money. Many thanks to all involved.
My wife and I completed the grand pacific 14 Day New Zealand Panorama tour and we would like to feedback that the tour was great. The local drivers with their local knowledge and humour were brilliant, keeping us on track to enjoy the 2 weeks and have a great time meeting the others on the tour. The additional offerings were well matched to what we like and the inclusions were largely suitable. Well done. Thanks.
Hi Shelly. The trip was simply FABULOUS!! We loved every minute. Accommodations were all excellent; the planned excursions and activities were all enjoyable; the bus was EVERYTHING we hoped it would be; meals were all high quality. Our tour guide did an excellent job. Trip organization was seamless; from the moment we landed in Auckland and were picked up to be taken to the hotel, to the moment our driver in Christchurch not only took us to the airport, but grabbed both our suitcases and shepherded us to exactly the right counter inside the terminal, we were fully taken care of. This was an amazing trip, and I just wish you and grand pacific would open equivalent tours all over the world. Thank you so much for the role you played in making this all happen. You were our first contact, and you made such a good first impression. We are so glad we booked with you. Go ahead and publish whatever part of this you want. Sharon
From the first moment of stepping onto the bus I loved every minute of our tour. It was superbly organized and ran very smoothly. I especially liked some of the outings which were organized for us as well as the many options offered. We saw a marvelous variety of scenery, bush, towns and the very many sea inlets and outlets and the Trans-Alpine was fabulous with a sprinkling of snow to wish us on our way. Breakfasts and dinners were always welcome and we had a good selection to choose from and accommodation always sparkling clean. All in all I found this a wonderful way to get a good overall view of NZ and it has whetted my appetite for more! Thanks again. Penny Erasmus.
We cannot fault the service given by Christina Brockie at New Zealand Coach Tours. Everything was organized like clockwork and the grand pacific's 9 day Northern Spectacular was an excellent tour.
The hotels and included meals were of a very high standard. The itinerary was interesting and our tour guide and driver gave us lots of information along the way. We all had a great time.
Carol and I were on the grand pacific 10 Day South Island Spectacular from 11th March to 20th March. Initially organising the tour with the brilliant assistance from Natalie DeCaro was made very easy. Nothing was too much trouble for Natalie in spite of her having to deal with some very inclement weather during the organising period. We both thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
The coach crew were very helpful, entertaining and knowledgeable in all aspects of the country travelled through, the attractions to visit and the history of the country. John Crummey did his utmost to accommodate everyone's wishes and he was always very pleasant and cheerful. The coach driver, Geoff Painter, was an excellent driver. Never rushed and very safe. One always felt comfortable knowing Geoff was at the controls. Our accommodation was very good with very few problems. We did have difficulty with gettting a room with a walk-in shower. in spite of asking several times. It wasn't arranged until the penultimate night. Carol was unable to access the showers located over the tubs which made life more difficult than necessary. Our disappointment came from knowing that other people in our group had walk-in showers but did not have the mobility problems that Carol had and she needed the walk-in shower. We were very happy with the standard of accommodation throughout the journey. The included attractions were, for the most part, very good. The TranzAlpine Express experience was most enjoyable. One of the highlights for us was the jet boat ride on the Haast River. The night in Queenstown when we travelled by the TSS Earnslaw to Walter Peak Station was a truly great experience. We loved it all including the sing song on the return journey on the TSS Earnslaw. We felt that following the dinner we were rushed a bit to go to the sheep dog show. More time for a coffee following the meal would have been appreciated. The meal at the station was really good. At Te Anau I went on the glow worm cave tour. That was a great experience. Our trip to Milford Sound was good. We were lucky to have good weather that day and, in fact, for most of the trip. At no stage did the weather interfere with our planned activities.Would have liked more time in Dunedin. Looked a very interesting city We were taken to Larnach Castle which was quite interesting but the stairs made it too much of a challenge for some people. We would have preferred to have the opportunity to do a short rail journey from Dunedin along the coast. There was a 90 minute journey available but it was just not possible with our timings. The Haggis Ceremony was a lot of fun and we enjoyed that as a lead up to dinner. The accommodation at Twizel was very good despite our expectations of mediocre accommodation suggested (perhaps jokingly) by our tour guide. The trip to Mount Cook was great. We were lucky to see the mountain clear of cloud and we really enjoyed seeing the snow caps on the mountain and adjacent peaks. On our return to Christchurch we were taken on a tour of the CBD. A number of tour participants had arrived in Christchurch prior to the commencement of the tour and had already done their own tour of the city. Perhaps an alternative arrangement could be offered to people who had already done this aspect of the tour. All in all it was a most enjoyable tour. We were well looked after by the coach staff, the coach was extremely comfortable and the accommodation was very good. I would not hesitate in recommending a similar tour to anyone wishing to have an overview of the South Island. A great experience and thanks to all who made it possible.
We both loved the tour, but unfortunately I was quite sick the week before we left and perhaps I should have inquired whether we could defer the holiday for a while until I had recovered more. In any event both the Coach Captain Lindsay Ferguson and the Tour Guide Dave Taylor made sure that I was well taken care of during the tour, plus all the other guests looked out for me too.
We liked all the of the hotels we stayed in except for the Sudima Lake at Rotorua where there was no disabled room available nor was there a grab rail or shower stool I had to take a chair from the balcony into the shower, the hotel is somewhat tatty and old not at all disabled friendly I would not like to stay there again. We loved the Scenic Hotel at Piahia I think that was our favourite hotel, windows and door to open large room big disabled bathroom we just loved it. Also liked the Copthorne at Solway Park Wairarapa it also had door opening to a small semi private courtyard overlooking the outdoor pool where you could sit in the quiet cool evening. Sky City in Auckland was also very good though I couldn't cope with the room decor black net curtains and black drapes, dark furniture and dark grey carpet left me feeling somewhat claustrophobic but the amenities were great. The food in all the hotels was very good and the prearranged tours were well thought out as were the optional tours. All in all we did enjoy our holiday with grand pacific the whole tour was well thought out and put together the accommodation was great with the exception of the Sudima Lake at Rotorua. We would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience a great tour of New Zealand's North Island.
The tour I did was wonderful. The Accommodation was excellent and your tour driver & leader were very good. I enjoyed New Zealand very much as it was 43yrs since I was last there.
Dear Natalie, I am Verena Müller-Mitschke. My son Dominic Mueller has booked for me the grand pacific 14 Day New Zealand Panorama Tour. I have just come back and want to thank you very much for all the effort you have into making this tour a memorable experience for me.
First let me thank you that you made my late transfer due to a flight change from Christchurch to the hotel possible. Second thank you for helping me through Dominic find the perfect tour for me. I received a vast knowledge and insight into New Zealand which will stay in my memory for all times. Our bus drivers / tour guides were really great, especially Peter with his all-encompassing knowledge, his excellent driving skills and last but not least his caring friendliness. Thank you very much again and I will definitely recommend you and your travel agency to my friends at home and in Australia. Kind regards Verena Müller-Mitschke
Hi Erynn, We wanted to let you know that our trip was wonderful and we can not thank you enough for your input and your attention to detail. Everything worked out extremely well – the coaches comfortable, the drivers Warren and Greg great, the accommodation and food to our liking.
Both islands are beautiful and the people most friendly. The weather was very kind including a smooth ferry trip from Picton to windy Wellington. We were also very fortunate that the 48 passengers we started with were most compatible so it made things easier for all. We would recommend your company to others as we were most satisfied. Thanks again to you personally, Regards, Ian Wesche
Well satisfied with all booking arrangements, all carried out in a very professional manner and went through with out a hitch. Regarding the tour I must first compliment both coach captains Alex and Kevin also tour guide Brian who all contributed in making the trip so memorable.
They had a wealth of knowledge on the history and culture of the Islands which they shared with us throughout the tour with quite a few jokes and interesting stories. All hotels were up to standard except the Heritage Gateways at Omarama which had badly stained carpets in the room and the meals were just adequate, others in the group commented on this issue. Despite some early starts and long travelling times in the coach I thoroughly enjoyed the whole tour, each day was so varied regarding terrain, scenery and places of interest. Hard to chose highlights of the tour but my four favourite locations would have to be Queenstown, Fox Glacier, Rotorua (loved the gondola ride and breakfast at the Skyline followed by a luge ride and the thrill of a optional Mount Tarawera Volcano flight and landing via Helicopter) and finally two night of relaxation at the Bay of Islands. Best regards, Alan
Wanted to thank you and grand pacific for such a wonderful trip on our first visit to New Zealand. You were an excellent point of contact for our day to day questions and that was important.
We felt the value received for the cost of the tour was very good and the details of the trip were well arranged. Coaches were comfortable and drivers/guides were professional but also enjoyable. I have already suggested this tour company to a friend and will not be hesitant to do it again. We were fortunate with good weather which no one can control but it did make the trip more pleasant. Beautiful country with nice people and we are so glad we made the choice to visit. Thank you for your part in this trip. Dick and Donna Gement
A friend and I have just returned from a most enjoyable 10 day tour of the South Island organised by grand pacific Tours which we arranged via Louise Barrett. We were most impressed with the way the tour was structured, the attention to detail, the personalities and expertise of both the our guide and driver not to mention the friendliness and support we received at all times from others (mainly Australians) on the tour.
Obviously we would have liked to have lingered longer at certain places like Arrowtown and Geraldine but we understood why this was not possible. The weather was perfect for 95% of the time which added to our enjoyment and we have no hesitation is recommending this tour unreservedly to other NZers. Many thanks. Murray Jenkin and Marie Thomas
Hi Joanna this email finds us both well and very refreshed from our lovely holiday. We cannot speak highly enough of New Zealand, the people, the scenery and our wonderful, wonderful coach trip. It was everything and more than we expected.
The accommodation, meals and hospitality at all the hotels was exceptional. The excursions were an added bonus and our coach driver Steve a real star. Thank you again for all your help in organising this trip. I can honestly say I have never been so looked after from the start to finish! You are courteous, knowledgeable and very aware that these holidays are very important to the persons booking them. You can rest assured I will and have already recommended yourself and the company to family and friends!!! Sheila and David Reed, extremely satisfied customers
Beautiful country and beautiful trip ... the views are unique, above all so impeccable and organized. Next year my daughter and her family will visit New Zealand ... I hope that the family group will receive it with some benefits and discounts.
We really enjoyed the trip and the efforts not only of our guides but those of Salli Smith. That said, I suspect for future vacations we'll be perhaps a bit less 'tour' oriented and more 'vacation' oriented.
For our entire journey there were something like a dozen 'changes of base': Honolulu -- 2 nights Sydney - 1 night Cairns -- 3 nights Melbourne -- 8 nights Auckland -- 3 nights Bay of Islands -- 2 nights Auckland --1 night Rotorua -- 2 nights Napier -- 1 night Wellington - 2 nights National Park --3 nights Waikoloa Village -- 6 nights That's a lot of unpacking and packing -- and the tour portion also entailed 6AM wake up calls. This is not a complaint -- just that it was an ambitious travel plan. Future long trips for us will not have more than 6 base changes. That said we've lots of memories and my wife figures it will take a couple of months before she's finished editing out the thousands of pictures. Best parts of the New Zealand tour: 1) Bay of Islands -- we had two day cruises which we really enjoyed 2) Rotorua -- Hangi -- that was fun 3) Wellington -- Museum tour 4) Hobbiton There were other memories as well. I do think we will return to New Zealand in a few years -- but perhaps doing a different structure -- fewer stops and longer duration.
Professional outfit making guests feel welcomed and cared for. Would have liked to see more active add on activities and less coach time per day, but overall an enjoyable, well run tour with a great guide/driver and genial guests. Would recommend for elderly customers.
Thanks Lauren for recommending GP 16 Day Highlights--it was the perfect tour for me. I was happy with the selected hotels because they were folksy or allowed us to stay in some smaller towns where they're weren't fancier hotels.
I hope travelers will be clear about the level of hotels they want. The coach captains (Alex and Kevin) made the tour great.
We had flights to NZ booked and so had a specific time frame to fit in a tour. Kelly at New Zealand Coach Tours was able to suggest tours that fitted our requirement, replying to my email requests very promptly each time I made changes.
The grand pacific 16 day Highlights of NZ was a fantastic way of seeing all the major sights. The coach captains were very friendly and knowledgeable. Having porterage at every hotel saved each guest from having to drag their cases to and from the coach each day. The breakfast provided every day always had plenty of choice, be it cooked or continental style. And having a 3-course evening meal almost every day saved having to go out and look for something in the locality. Trips and experiences included in the package were excellent, some of them giving exclusive access before the public. Highlights would be the Te Papa museum in Wellington, The luge in Rotorua, and Bay of Islands boat tour. There was also a good choice of optional experiences, I recommend the 1 hour tour of Russell as well as the Te Anau glow worm cave. The coach stops for coffee/lunch etc were always in fascinating places. The bus had plenty of leg room and I never felt uncomfortable. Seat rotation is an excellent idea.
Perfect trip - everything worked like a dream. Not a rest though - on the coach for 8 o'clock most mornings but it is the hassle free way to see the whole country. - Thanks Christina and for the car hire too. Viv and Derek
Thoroughly enjoyed our trip, very impressed with everyone involved, Lauren at NZ coach tours, our tour guide and both drivers. All the hotels and meals were excellent.
We really liked all the planned visits and thought the guides were very informative.
Hi Alarna Well we have made it back in one piece and now it seems so long ago, I think we need another one. We had a brilliant time on our trip, could not fault it. Bob’s first trip overseas and he has not stopped talking about it.
Our driver was Steve and he was very passionate about his beautiful country, and so he should be. The scenery is amazing everywhere you look. Steve told us many funny stories and gave us so much insight into culture, scenery every where we went, we enjoyed his tales and had lots of laughs along the way. He sure made our trip that much more interesting. People have asked me the best part it is sure hard to pick one but I was blow away at Walter Peak Station and the singsong as we went back to Queenstown was fun especially as half the boat was tipsy. Food was amazing every where we went and both Bob and my waist lines expanded too much, now to get it off. Accommodation was excellent and we had a great bunch of fellow tourists, some from Aust, NZ and lots from UK. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES Regards Bob and Pat
Hi Emma, Thank You so much for arranging this wonderful trip for us. You did some magic to get us on this trip. Everyone on coach was from Australia except my husband and me were from USA miles away. People were very friendly and made us feel at home.
We needed special vegetarian diet and we enjoyed all the meals. The grand tour took very good care of us; right from pickup to drop off at the airport. It was wonderful experience. We loved the tour. I have been talking about You and beautiful New Zealand to everyone. South New Zealand is very natural, gorgeous and scenic. All the hotels were good except Queensland. It was little bit outdated. Bathroom was old. Our coach Driver/ manager was very friendly, helpful and did fantastic job. Emma communicated with us all the time, prepared us and informed us about the trip. She is very patient, answered all our questions and returned our phone calls. I would recommend this tour team to my friend and family. My only wish is that this tour company offer tours in other countries. Thanks Again, Raju & Jyoti
Many many thanks to Lauren for the help with the booking. We found the whole trip awesome. This was a great way to do an overview visit of the main places and whet the appetite for future visits.
Both tour captains/drivers were excellent and Kerry was exceptional as our tour guide. It was all over too quickly. I can thoroughly recommend the company and have done so to my friends. Will definitely be going back to the company for future visits. Anne and Pat
Great trip. Everything went well. I will surely recommend it to friends. I will also recommend they book via you folks. Every part of the trip was first class.
The coach was incredible. Driver/guide was great. The side trip which was covered to Doubtful Sound was a highlight. You live in a beautiful country. You were a big reason we booked this trip. All your help was appreciated. By the way they did a good job with Kathryn’s birthday. Thanks again Regards Bruce & Kathryn Hedderig
My wife and I liked the grand pacific 14 day New Zealand Panorama. It gave us an introduction of the nice places to see in New Zealand.
The driver kept the bus clean all the time and is a good driver. The hotels we comfortable. Except for a couple of places, food was good. Thank you New Zealand Coach Tours for helping us in booking this tour. Natalie was very friendly and helpful.
My husband and I planned our New Zealand trip for my 50th and his 60th birthday and looked at all different options and contacted Natalie who was really helpful and patient with our list of questions.
When we booked our holiday everything went smoothly and Natalie was always at the end of the email if we had a query, like adding an extra night in the hotel before the tour started, getting picked up from the airport even asking questions about the holiday protection (atol protection in UK) Natalie would always answer promptly allowing for time difference between UK and New Zealand. The tour was a great success, everything went smoothly, better weather perhaps but Natalie couldn't do anything about that. I would book with Natalie if ever we come back to New Zealand. Thanks for your help
This was an amazing tour for the sights and activities we experienced. The booking process was very simple from England. Natalie always provided prompt and friendly answers to any questions we had, despite the 13 hour time difference.
grand pacific certainly turned out to be the cream of the tours. So much was included, from the high standard of hotels with really good food to the various sights. Often GP were able to secure private access, such as the Glenbrrok railway or the private lounge on the inter-island ferry. Also we really appreciated not having to handle our luggage throughout. All the little details seem to have been taken care of from the daily timings sheet to the change-round of coach seats every day. We chose this tour because it offered an overnight on a boat on Milford Sound whereas other companies hurried there and back in a day. The highlights for us were two optional trips. The first was the helicopter landing on the Franz Josef Glacier. It was worth every penny and is one of the best things we have ever done! The other was the Skippers Canyon trip from Queenstown. In a 4x4 minibus the drive is always close to the edge of a long drop, but always felt safe. The views of the river far below were amazing. I would thoroughly recommend both of these trips. I was a little disappointed that our booking itinerary still showed the Coastal train on the South Island even though this has not been able to run since the earthquake. It really is time this was changed. This is quite a tiring tour, being out of the hotel by 8.00 most mornings. It is not a leisurely holiday, but to experience so much in the time was exceptional. Nick the tour guide and our two drivers Megan and Peter always provided the right amount of information. We learnt so much about the country and its people. From the moment of enquiring about booking to the farewell dinner we were so pleased with everything. A trip of a lifetime! Many thanks to all concerned. Alan and Susan Harber
Had the best holiday ever, loved every bit of it. Natalie DeCaro was extremely professional and helpful. She is a credit to your company.
We loved our grand pacific 19 Day New Zealand Showcase Tour in October. You had arranged extra days for us both prior to the tour and after it and everything - the hotels and the transfers - went well.
The tour took us to some amazing, beautiful and interesting places and our two coach captains were very knowledgeable and very entertaining. Our tour guide Kerrie was patient, kind and very helpful and made everything fun. We would definitely recommend this tour. Thank you for organising it for us. Best Wishes, Jam and Jim Greaves
Thank you for all your help in arranging my trip to New Zealand. Everything went well with my flights, firstly to Singapore for the three days I spent there (loved it), then the rest to New Zealand and return.
It is a beautiful country and I so enjoyed the coach tour and everything I saw and did. Was a wee bit disappointed that it wasn't as "solo" as I thought it would be. Lots of people seemed to know each other and I felt to begin with there was a feeling of groups. However it wasn't too long before I struck up a couple of friendships. I also came back with a dreadful cold/cough but that cannot be helped. Every other day someone in the coach was feeling poorly so it was only a matter of time before I was affected also! Fortunately on my last day! Thank you again for all the effort you put into making this a wonderful holiday and experience for me. Hope you are well. Kind regards, Jean
New Zealand is amazing and I really enjoyed my stay there. Definitively worth a 27 hour journey. The tour was well organized and both of the coach captains were professional, friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Alarna for arranging everything perfectly.
I loved my tour with grand pacific. New Zealand is beautiful. The bus was great, and the driver/guide was very knowledgeable. All of the accommodations were very good, some excellent and food was fabulous. I was lucky to have such a great group of people on my bus to make it very enjoyable. I will highly recommend this holiday to my Canadian friends.
Hi Natalie On our return I thought I must email and thank you once again, for help and advice with our trip. grand pacific made it a seamless and trouble free experience, very professional, with a well organised informative tour. with some great excursions and shows included. New Zealand was a great place to visit and would recommend our 16 day tour for anyone looking for an insight to your country with many lasting memories. Yours thankfully Roger & Julie
Thanks Shelley. Please thank all the staff involved in our trip, we had a great experience. The last 2 days on the South Island were particularly tiring due to natural disasters. I suggested to find a way to spend less time on the road. But on the whole we appreciate all the work put in. Thanks very much, Zipi & Barry Levinson
The tour was well conducted and covered most of the things I had wanted to see. It was a pity that the Trans-Alpine Railway was out of commission, but on the whole the tour was memorable. This website is very well done, clear and most easy to use. Lauren was most helpful and prompt with replies to queries. I would strongly recommend this site to those searching for tours to New Zealand.
Hi Shelley We enjoyed the trip and were really lucky with the weather though nearly all the coach got hit by a cold bug. Still it boosted business for the pharmaceutical industry. Personally we would have liked it if there were more 2 night stops. For example, Dunedin was a 1½ hour stop. But Queenstown was 2 nights, such a relief to be able to chill.
We had some fantastic meals, the drivers were really good and we (well me) managed a bit of shopping. Pretty much all of us thought it would be a good idea if those leaving us (at Christchurch) could have had a minibus for the transfer. The day going back to Christchurch was a long haul and then another long day up to Picton - they were hard. Honestly I'd love to come back and do it at a slower pace but it is a long flight. I hope the cathedral in Christchurch gets rebuilt old syle. Many thanks Sue
Great holiday and fun times with nice fellow travellers. Natalie at NZ Coach Tours did a great job for us and John our driver was just brilliant, thank you so much. Mr and Mrs G Hall UK
We had a wonderful holiday in New Zealand. Our tour consultant was excellent. She managed our time difference extremely well while we were arranging payment for the tour. All my questions were answered very promptly. The information regarding the train journey that had to be cancelled was given to us before we departed. Most other people on the tour did not receive this information before they arrived. I had never heard of your company before trying to find availability online. No other company I contacted could offer any dates for this tour in February. I would definitely recommend your company to anyone. Thank-you The tour itself did not disappoint on any level.
We have travelled the world on many tours of this type, this was excellent. The organisation and tour guides/drivers were impressive. The check in procedure at hotels was the best we have ever encountered. The hotels were above my expectation for 3 star hotels. Only one hotel had rather small rooms, expected in Wellington City and one did not have the iron and ironing board as it should have had. All accommodation was clean, well equipped and very helpful friendly staff. I could not fault the food at any on the hotels. The knowledge and helpfulness of our guides was excellent. Linda was particularly good when making sure guests with some difficulties had suitable rooms. She did this as a matter of course and didn't have to be asked. The pre arranged activities on the tour were good and the optional trips also varied and good. The tour was made especially memorable because the local people are so lovely, polite, helpful and kind. New Zealand is the only country I have visited that I could live in. Thank-you for a wonderful holiday experience.
Dear Natalie We’ve been so busy and we’ve been meaning to contact you since we got back home. We were actually over in Melbourne to visit our daughter so this was a holiday within a holiday, everything about it was just great, John our driver was just superb, we made many new friends (48 of us on the bus) and we all had a marvelous time. Do let us know about future tours and we would be especially interested in coach tours to the North island or Tasmania. Many thanks Greg and Elaine Hall
We truly enjoyed the tour, a great way to see everything in the whole of New Zealand without hassle of driving & where to go, made it easier to enjoy our vacation. Our accommodations were excellent/better that we had expected. Murry our coach captain/narrator was awesome, very patient & helpful, takes time to make sure everyone & their belongings are well taken care of; Kerrie our tour guide/coordinator made sure everyone was alright she was helpful and went beyond to help us without hesitations.
They are exceptionally great assets to grand pacific Tour company. Anyway we have a lot of retired friends interested in traveling, some have thoughts of planning to go New Zealand.... we'll highly recommend you and grand pacific Tours especially the one we took. Thank You, Evelyn and Alynn Orman
The whole experience was very good. We certainly were impressed by the driver/guides & their enthusiasm & knowledge. We were with a nice group of people.
Only one hotel in Fox was below expectations, Franz Josef was overbooked & we had to sleep in a very small room with no hanging space & no soundproofing, I heard our neighbours snoring. I suggest due to the highway being closed between Christchurch & Picton that an alternative route be sought as the last 2 days on South Island were extremely tiring, I would suggest sleeping closer to Picton. I understand natural disasters are the reason but many people took ill from the last 2 days on South Island. Despite this the overall experience was great.
Thanks for all your help Natalie. The trip was wonderful. Accommodations were very good except Queenstown when we had to arrange our own dinner. We were quite far from downtown and the menu at the hotel was very, very limited and very small portions. Otherwise the meals were very good. Great drivers and met some wonderful people that I am sure we will keep in touch with. Thanks again.
We have just finished one of the best guided tours of New Zealand ever. Our tour guide Alan Chiron and our bus drivers, John Rusden and John Taylor made the whole trip easy and enjoyable. They were informative and funny and were an essential part of making the tour work for all of us.
This was our first visit to New Zealand and our first coach tour so we didn't know what to expect, but what we discovered was a beautiful country and a tour company that makes the whole holiday very easy and includes fun and interesting side trips. Our first point of contact when we started thinking about visiting New Zealand was Christina Brockie and she was absolutely delightful and advised us on all the available tours and what was included, so we were able to make an informed choice and in our case we took the grand pacific 19 day rail, cruise and coach holiday. If this is going to be your first trip to New Zealand then I highly recommend this tour. If there was a star system, I would give this tour 5 stars +.
Hi Lauren, we had no problems with your input to our tour. When we arrived in Christchurch on 23rd February we did not receive our welcome pack until the evening of the 24th.
There were vouchers in the excursion booklet we could have used but we're not able to because we got them too late. Most hotels on our tour were very good but there were two that did not have air conditioning. They did have heaters but that is no good if the room temperature is warm. I will try to remember the name of the hotels and let you know. We also completed the tour survey with other comments where improvements could be made. Brian Buchanan
Thank you very much Jane for helping us to realise our dreams and take a trip to NZ. It was a fantastic holiday for us. We feel like revisiting NZ again whenever we can find bargain airfares to fly to Auckland or Christchurch. The South Island is where we would like to go again.
Hi Salli, My family really loved the trip. They told me that the hotels were very clean, also that the staff from the hotels were in charge of their luggage (they were Happy with that) and the food was good. On the other hand, the driver always asked if they had understood the schedule and he was worried for them. The group was really friendly and open minded. In general, they told me that I could recommend this trip all my friends because it was a luxury trip. As you can see, all good! For this reason, I would like to say to you: thank you very much! Cheers, Judith
Dear Natalie, Thank you for your email. We had the most wonderful time in NZ! The South Island scenery was breathtakingly spectacular. There were too many "favourite" moments! But the Te Anau glow worm caves, helicopter ride on the Fox glacier and the shotover jet boat ride in Queenstown were amazing! The hotels were top notch, food was great and the coach drivers were very accommodating (Riki even used to sing to us...haha!). The only downside was the weather which prevented us from getting to Milford Sound on time. I have many happy memories of NZ to treasure! Kind regards, Stephanie Santucci
The tour was wonderful, just a few comments. The seat belts on the bus cut into your neck. On the belts in my car I have a soft pad that velcros on. Mercure Queenstown Resort was too far from the city center. And too expensive to get a ride, we walked and it took us about 25 minutes downhill and 40 minutes back uphill. All the tours were great. And we also like the grand pacific bag we were given. Megan, Peter & Chris were great guides. Joe & Barbara Salmons
We were very pleased with the tour. Our guide and drivers were first rate. The hotels with the exception of the Scenic hotel Bay of Islands and the Quality Hotel Elms were very good. We were very disappointed with one tour option...the evening dinner cruise at the Bay of Islands. The cruise operator overbooked the cruise. There were not enough tables for the passengers. My wife and I had to eat dinner off of plates in our laps.
Second, passengers were expected to participate in a humiliating introduction skit. Uncomfortable experience for many of us. Third, the cruise for the most part consisted of drifting in the harbor and then traveling a couple of kilometers up a river where we sat for an hour. I feel the dinner cruise was a ripoff and diminishes the overall quality of the grand pacific Tour. It should be eliminated as a GP sponsored tour option. I think GP should be upfront in forewarning its tour participants about the damage in Christchurch. We were shocked by the level of damage in the CBD. Overall, we loved New Zealand, the GP tour and the strength of Kiwis in coping with the earthquakes. James Zdon
We just returned 3 days ago from our trip to Australia and NZ. The trip was more than we expected... starting with Dan, whenever I e-mailed Dan there was always a reply the next day and always offering to call me, he was very professional, kind and helpful. I made a comment on the form you had supplied at the end of the tour re the way we were handled by our Coach Manager Ken and our North Island Coach Driver/Tour Guide Linda, she was a terrific driver and very, very knowledgeable, our South Tour Guide was also a good driver but I felt knot quite up to par with Linda. The handling of the earthquake in Wellington was well handled, little confusion with the hotel accommodations after we left the hotel that morning but all in all no problem. I would highly recommend the tour and would most definitely book another tour if and when we would return to New Zealand.....thanks for the wonderful memories.....Christine and Hans Rainyn p.s. again Dan was WONDERFUL :)
Jane, thank you for arranging our tour and the help given. Everything went smoothly for Veronica and I. Our travelling companions were marvelous, the coach captains were very helpful and knowledgeable. New Zealand is a wonderful and refreshing country. It's a pity the tour did not take us to Wanaka to see your office. Definitely we will recommend you and NZ Coach Tours if any of our fellow countrymen mentions wanting to visit your wonderful country. Best Regards from Veronica & Joseph Emmanuel (Malaysia)
Good Morning Michelle,
A very Big Thank you and all your Staff Members so much for handling all the arrangements for our New Zealand Holiday. The hotels, sights & meals were great, making this the most unforgettable & wonderful experiences we have ever had. Truly the most amazing best holiday by far. We will highly recommended you to our family and friends when they want to visit New Zealand. "Kia Ora" Thank you Mollie
Just a short note to thank you for your assistance re our recent 2 week coach tour of north and south island of New Zealand. Both of us had a great time and really enjoyed all the included extras. We saw some beautiful scenery and have many wonderful memories. I must admit we were not prepared for the ‘cooler’ weather but to still see a lot of snow on the alps was a bonus. We were very lucky to be just ahead of the earth quake in Kaikoura, we were in Rotorua… I feel for all the people that were affected and especially those in the previous quake in Christchurch… I do hope nature is kinder in the future. Thanks again for your assistance and the coach drivers were also excellent. Kind Regards David & Trish Pearson
We would like to thank everyone from grand pacific Tours for a wonderful Holiday. The booking process was easy and Christina looked after us very well. She was very helpful in every aspect and it was nice to talk to her on the telephone as well as communicating via email. She is a credit to your company. I handed my evaluation form in at the end of the tour. Special mention to the staff at Scenic Hotel Blenheim who looked after us the night of the earthquake. I would definitely recommend anyone to travel with grand pacific and hopefully will return in the future. Tricia & Roger Fozzard
Our tour was the best bus trip I have been on. Jane our Tour Consultant planned everything and dealing with our last minute changes to perfection. grand pacific were amazing from the actual bus to our Drivers Riki and Kevin. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotels were amazing too. Dealing with my food intolerance's, they couldn't have tried harder. We were extremely lucky with our tour just passing through the earthquake epicenter mere hours before reaching Wellington. Our luck held in getting out of Wellington before the Floods locked down the city. The only downside I could think of was not enough time was available from place to place. I realise that to cover the ground we did, that is probably unavoidable. All in all a fantastic experience. Cheers, Denise & Dorothy
There have been more positive experiences then negatives to describe what I thought of the tour. The two drivers, both Steve's, North and South Islands kept us informed with information, they were very good at pulling our legs but accepted the Aussies teasing about Rugby ect very well. Our tour guide , also Steven, had lots of historical information and did a great job for the 30 + passengers on the bus. Both bus drivers and our guide knew where the amazing things to visit and see were. The company's choices for our accommodation were good to very good. The options on this tour catered for everybody, I choose the shot over boat experience [-day 6] , which was exhilarating and great fun, the fly over Milford sound [day 5] was breath taking. Day 7 helicopter flight over Franz Josef glacier and the landing also something to remember forever. I could say a lot more, what I will end with is that the trip gave me an appetite to come back and see more of NZ. Regards, Bert Muysers
Hi Salli. Thanks for the email. Dan was an A1 hands on 100% top guy who gave customer service a really special polish. In fact I found all of your team that I spoke to only too keen to do their utmost to help with any enquiries that I had. The tiki tour itself was amazing. A real one off lifetime experience. Our party were blessed with good company, we had a great crowd and every one got on really well Our drivers were hard working, attentive, personable and professional Thanks one and all to grand pacific Tours and to New Zealand Coach Tours.
The tour was great. Going with grand pacific was a terrific choice. And that was because our friend recommended the tour company after her wonderful experience with them. The sites we went to were amazing. The meals were incredible. We liked most of the accommodations. Some were really better than others. We did not do many of the optional tours but the Skippers Canyon was awesome. We were glad we did that.
Wish grand pacific had other tours besides NZ. We think GP is a very good company and the staff were very nice, helpful and friendly. Cole Marsh our North Island driver and Andrew of the South Island were very good and very knowledgeable. Steve Withell our guide through out the tour was also very knowledgeable and it was obvious that all of them loved what they were doing. Way to GO.... grand pacific!!! Thanks, Alex and Genie
grand pacific 9 Day Taste of the South Island was awesome, accommodation was great, food was good, especially enjoyed Walter Peak Station and the Tss Earnslaw, special commendation to our bus driver, he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great holiday and he was a fountain of knowledge. Would give grand pacific Tours 10 out of 10 for making it the holiday of a lifetime. Kind Regards, Diana & Kevin
Charlie was the ULTIMATE agent. We emailed 3 travel agencies and only Charlie got back to us in 24 hours (in fact he called us in the US in under 23 minutes) He was always prompt with replies and we loved the personalized web page for our itinerary and payments. The tour was indeed ultimate. Our tour group and driver cried when the two had to part ways at the end. The best parts had to be the White Island Volcano Helicopter landing and seeing penguins in the wild in Doubtful Sound. Can I take my tour coach home?
Hi Michelle, First of all I would like to thank you for helping us at the beginning of the holiday when we had flight problems. The fact that you were available to liaise with GPT and ensure we were met in Auckland even though we were 7 hours late was superb. Thanks again. This was our first ever coach tour, and we were slightly apprehensive about whether or not we would enjoy it. We needn’t have worried! From the time we were picked up at the airport to the time we were dropped off at the end of the trip, everything was great and efficiently organised. The hotels were all first class, and the tour captain drivers (Rangi Chris and Andrew) were extremely good company and well informed.
Another plus was that the whole group of passengers got on well with each other with no clash of personalities! The scenery was outstanding, as was most of the included stops and excursions. There were one or two instances that weren’t so good, but were obviously included as fillers so that there were no clashes with other coach trips. However they didn’t spoil the overall enjoyment. One other thing should be mentioned happened on the last night. Due to bad weather the trip to the Glow worm caves was cancelled at short notice. we accepted this as you can’t control the weather. However at the farewell dinner we were very pleasantly surprised when GPT refunded the cost of the excursion. I don’t know of many firms that would do that. So, in summary, it was a most enjoyable and memorable tour with very pleasant company. I would recommend this tour and also recommend booking through New Zealand Coach Tours. Thanks again for ensuring this holiday exceeded our expectations. Mike and Janette
Shelley, my wife and I would like to personally thank you for your gracious communication with us while putting our New Zealand trip together in February. Under Brian Cor...(name not at my fingertips), our magnificent guide, Greg and Allan, our bus and commentary drivers, we and 42 others had an amazing trip, where we learned a little bit more about your beautiful country, met new friends, and enjoyed the local hospitality. While we did not make it to Wanaka to thank you personally, this will have to do for now. You and others behind the scenes made this trip possible, so thank you. Have a great day. Whakawhetai koe (if that is appropriate) Dean and Susan Lausten
Thankyou to Jane for booking my 19 day grand pacific Tour of New Zealand - things could not have worked out any better, perfect.
Had a great time Andrew & Chris both very informative both very different all accommodations & food were excellent,The group were all different and had a great time The only disappointment was the food at the Copthorne Hotel at Auckland the last 2days lot of people complained in our group also notices a few meals being sent back , would recommend you're Tourers to friends thank you Tony/Kerry Hamer Ps did hand in the form as requested in Auckland. Michelle, the itinerary you provided was also excellent Tony /Kerry
I had a wonderful time in beautiful New Zealand. At first I was concerned that the bus driver was also serving as guide but it did work out well. The driver/guides were informative about the history and culture of the country and were both extremely competent drivers on some challenging stretches of road. All our pre-tour and post-tour accommodations worked out without a hitch. The tour did have some long days on the bus but in retrospect I would not have wanted to skip anything!
Hi Michelle I had a great time, all the group were all good fun, your drivers are very good at their job. Most of the Hotels were of good standard and had good internet access, only the Chopthorne hotel in Auckland the internet was poor only 30min free. You need good internet access in the last hotel for departure arrangement . All over it was a great Holiday. Thank you Kind regards David Holland
I did submit lengthy written feedback to the rep in Christchurch so I hope that arrived at its destination. Overall the trip was fantastic, and good value for money. For me personally the highlights were Queenstown and Milford Sound - the hotel in Queenstown was fantastic and it was nice to have two nights as the pace of the tour was fast.
Weather throughout was great, hot and sunny, though this caused a few people problems as none of the rooms were air conditioned and fans were in short supply. A major concern was in the Heritage Gateway where the fire alarm went off at 3pm due to a guest smoking in their room. We all gathered in the lobby and outside but no staff were visible and nobody took a roll call which I found worrying as there were lots of elderly people on the trip who may have needed assistance. Another problem for me was the lack of vegetarian main courses in a few hotels, at one I was told there was plenty of choice, nine different vegetables! The Heartland Cotswold food was good and staff very obliging but it's a very dated place, and very brown; in the restaurant in the evening it was almost impossible to read the menu as the lighting was so low. The haggis night at Dunedin was embarrassing, the Scotsman hosting piping in the haggis was very bawdy and the performance was very dated.on a very positive note, the driver Peter was fantastic, patient, knowledgeable, helpful and endlessly cheery. However, he was driving, giving a commentary, organising trips and arranging tickets which seemed a lot for him to cope with and although he never complained, he must have been exhausted at the end of the trip. I think we would have benefitted from a separate tour guide so that Peter could concentrate on the driving. All in all, a good trip, well organised but a few improvements would make it a great trip. It might be worth pointing out in your advice that mosquito repellant is advised, I discovered this to my cost. If you want any more comments, let me know. In the meantime I'll send you some photos. Thanks, Kath
Mum & I thoroughly enjoyed our 14 day tour. Chris & Megan our drivers were skilled drivers & very informative. We were very lucky with having fine weather, there were 2 nights that were too hot for mum to sleep comfortably. (no a/c or ceiling fan) Scenery especially in the South Island was amazing & the activities each day were interesting & fun to participate. We had a terrific crew on board that made the tour all the more fun! Thankyou Michelle for your guidance before the tour:)
Natalie was very efficient in setting up all of the details of the tour, and was very professional as well as friendly. It was an easy experience all the way around. We enjoyed all of the venues we visited, and Alex Rollinson, the bus driver on the South Island was excetional in the way he organized and handles 48 people, some of whom became ill. Kudos to everyone. We had an amazing time. Thanks especially to Natalie, who arranged everything, and helped me sift through the options, including self drive, etc.
The tour went very well! Very good coaches, friendly, knowlegable drivers, good accommodations, good food (for the most part). We would recommend to anyone. Thank you. Ella and Laverne
Very good tour john Taylor was top class. Good sense of humour. And put everyone at ease A good ambassador for your company. South Island great. With comfortable rooms and good meals. North Island was good to Alan was seviceable. But not up to johns standard. Again hotels were good and all your reps did a great job. Overall good value for money. Right from office staff to hotel staff. Would recommend your company to friends. Many thanks. GED and Angela
Charlie, We cannot thank you enough for steering us in the direction of grand pacific small group tours. As far as we know, there is nothing that compares to this tour in the US. We felt our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, and very compatible with our entire groups needs, which were very diverse. The tour itself covered both islands very well. We have some Kiwi friends that told us that we pretty much saw all the best areas. Our hotels were exceptional, the food was fantastic and we really enjoyed getting to understand the Maori culture. For such a small country, this is a lot of history and beauty! Thank you again for suggesting this tour, Dennis and Sue
Hi Andi, I just wanted to drop you a line to say a big THANK YOU for organising all my tour to the South Island. I specifically wanted to tour in Autumn and it was spectacular, change of colours of the trees and a bit of snow on the mountains. The South Island is beautiful and I definitely want to come back and explore more. I can't say enough about the tour, it was Fantastic!! Absolutely loved every minute of it. Hotels were awesome, meals were fantastic, the whole trip went without a hitch. grand pacific Tours were great and would recommend to everyone. Our Coach Driver was Steve, kept us all on time, heaps of local knowledge, great suggestions for optional tours and fabulous sense of humour. I've been on tours before but this was the best and Steve was the best, even though he volunteered me to be part of the Haggis ceremony in Dunedin! I admit it was a lot of fun. Met a great bunch of people and staying in contact with a few now. So once again, THANKS!!!!! Kind regards Donna Kelly
Hi Andi We were highly delighted with the grand pacific tour of New Zealand and would recommend this tour company to anyone. The drivers Alec and Russell worked very hard and were so knowledgeable and helpful. Also a big thanks to you for arranging the tour, flights and extra accommodation for us. Everything went to plan with no hiccups, even the weather was kind to us. Thank you once again Linda & Richard Swann (Rosalind & John)
This was my first coach tour of any kind in any country, so I wasn't sure what to expect. We felt we were looked after really well. It was lovely to have our cases carried for us. The accommodation varied. Some had better food, some had comfier beds or better showers, but all were of an acceptable standard. We enjoyed the attractions and activities which were on offer. On a couple of days we felt we packed too much into the day, and would have preferred more time at less attractions. We also appreciated the spare time to enjoy places at our own leisure. Our only real disappointment occurred on the last day of the tour. Having got up really early, we were dropped off in Auckland before lunch, and felt we had been abandoned in favour of the people carrying on to The Bay of Islands. It would have been good to have something arranged for our little group to enjoy together. The Harbour tour or High Tea at the Sky Tower spring to mind. We could of course have arranged something ourselves, but we had no prior knowledge that we would be dropped off so early. However, we did enjoy the tour very much and it was an excellent way to see a beautiful country in comfort. Both our drivers were very knowledgeable, and brought to life a country that they clearly both love.
Hi Charlie Burford, We have safely arrived back to Austin, TX. The tour was excellent. There was no issues. There was very good food, Hotel & services. We did go to two cricket matches Wellington & Auckland. It was great to see live cricket in stadium after a long time. The people in the group were very friendly & we met lot of wonderful people mostly Australian. We really enjoyed their company. The grand pacific tour captain Dexter & Megan provided excellent service. Thank you for helping with the tour booking. Navin & Jasu
Dear Andrea, Just wanted to let you know we had a BRILLIANT holiday in New Zealand and everything worked out perfectly. We were extremely impressed with your organisation at New Zealand Coach tours and also that of grand pacific - we couldn't fault a thing and it was the best organised trip we have ever been on. THANK YOU! We will be recommending New Zealand Coach tours and grand pacific to everyone. Christine Phillips
We had a terrific tour, our Drivers were superb with a great depth of local knowledge. We would certainly recommend your company.
2 disappointments. Firstly, being British, it would have been nice to see where the treaty of Waitangi was signed but instead the driver took us onto the peninsular and showed us a Golf Course. I'm sure there was no signing on the 18th green. Secondly the Farewell Dinner left a lot to be desired. The first course was Seafood Chowder or NOTHING. Yes that's right 20 of the party of 31 left at the end just had to watch, including my wife, as the Copthorne Hotel was the only hotel on the tour that could not provide an alternative starter. The 2 lads serving seem to have no idea what they were doing and had to have a recount on deserts. I'm sorry that grand pacific use this hotel as it was a let down after the rest
Everything, from our initial exploratory chat with Andi, to ensuring we caught our (very) early flight home was professionally executed. The itinerary is amazing - we could not imagine a better one for this tour! The tour guide and bus drivers provided a relaxed and fun atmosphere that enabled our large, eclectic group of strangers to quickly bond into a very fun-to-travel-with group(it seemed we were always laughing)who looked after each other. The one recommendation we have is to allow more time in places like Oamaru and Dunedin. On a scale of 1 to 10, this was definitely a 20! Thanks to all of you at NZ Coach Tours for making our trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience!!!
A truly great experience that exceeded my expectations. The attractions we were shown were all very good and well paced. Arrangements at the various accommodations were very slick and the check in/out was simple and efficiently handled. The driver/guide was probably the best I have come across with a wealth of local knowledge delivered in a relaxed and entertaining manner. We would recommend this tour as a great way to see the wonders of New Zealand
A good trip which I would be happy to recommend. Itinerary fine, good people, accommodation, meals and bus. Careful driver, good commentary. Scottish haggis business in Dunedin a bit dated. Christchurch is depressing.
Hi Charlie. Thanks for the most excellent and enjoyable tour that your efforts and those of grand pacific made for me. The arrangements, hotels and - save for one meal of chaos at Mercure Queenstown - the food arrangements. I must say that the food and service at the Distinction, Te Anau were so very good and worthy of special mention. They say that the sun shines on the righteous; well, I must now come under that heading as for the full 13 days we were either just ahead of the foul weather or just behind it. The days at Wanaka for the airshow were perfect and the sun shone throughout. I have to say though that, good as the airshow was, the highpoint for me was the visits in Invercargil to the Page ' fastest Indian ' store and even more so to the Bill Richardson Motor Museum - both are unique with the vehicles that have been amassed and restored and so kindly put on display for enthusiasts and the public to enjoy. Likewise visits to the railways were interesting and trips worthy of doing. Our driver Paul [ sadly not with us on the last couple of days ] was a font of local knowledge both on the places themselves but also on the various little odd folklore and stories of the places we visited and passed through. Thanks again Charlie for arranging this enjoyable holiday and experience.
Carol and I both enjoyed the Tour. We found all the hotels to be very good: The Hotels in Franz Joseph and Queenstown were particularly good both as far as the room and the food were concerned. Both the Coach Captains were excellent: both were informative, amusing, excellent drivers and very good time keepers. The activities included with the trip and those, optional ones, we undertook were enjoyable and rewarding. It is difficult to select any activity as being particularly good as most were excellent. The only activities that did not keep up the excellent quality were the "glow worm caves", "The Agrodome" and "Whale Watching/Hole in the Rock Cruise" none of which lived up to the high standard of the rest of the tour. All in all an excellent tour which enabled us to see parts of New Zealand we would not have seen otherwise. We would recommend it to everyone
Hi Charlie Thank you for your great job. Your provided information made the booking stress free. We were impressed with the organization and professionalism and it gave us confidence that we made a good choice. The general tour pace was excellent, allowing plenty of free time to either relax or pursue more vigorous activities depending on individual preferences. Both coach drivers, though very different in personality, were very good careful drivers with great knowledge of their islands. The tour was full - 48 people for both the islands but everyone was cooperative and friendly. The way we changed seats on the coach is very good and gave everyone a 'fair go' at the best seats. We were particularly blessed with excellent weather! Only two wet days and one of those was at Milford Sound and other last day on Christchurch! We particularly enjoyed The Bay of Islands, Longlands Farm and Restaurant, Rotoroa and Agrodome, Napier in the North Island and of course Wellington. We really enjoyed the fantastic Tranz Alpine scenic train trip in the South Island. Franz Josef glacier was spectacular!! We were all blown away with the cruise on the Milford Sound! The Larnach Castle was marvelous. The hotels were all of a good comfortable standard. Te Waonui Forest Retreat in Franz Josef was fantastic. What about the views from the Mercury hotel in Queenstown!! The food was always good. We had a wonderful and memorable trip to New Zealand with grand pacific. We will recommend to book the tour via New Zealand Coach tours . Best Regards Maia
I Wasn't expecting too much from the coach tour, but how wrong was I. My wife being disabled means that we rely on others, to make certain arrangements, for our trip to be hassle free, and Charlie, you excelled in this department. Thank you very much. The coach drivers were excellent, especially Russel England. Nothing was too much trouble for them, from organising the optional trips to keeping us informed about the people and towns along the way. Thank you again for everyone involved in making our coach trip very enjoyable.
The tour was the best we have been on in over 30 years of touring. Accommodation, sightseeing, meals, coaches and drivers were all 1st class and the weather was perfect. Special thanks to the Scenic Hotel Marlborough for the excellent birthday cake they provided for my wife--complimentary. Would recommend this tour to anyone. Mick Stratton
We loved our trip and appreciate all the help you and grand pacific gave us. Someone really helped us do everything in every part of the trip. It made very much stress free.
Thank you for taking good care of us.Verl and Karen
Hi, Charlie, Good to hear from you! Indeed, the trip was terrific. It's a popular tour---no vacancies. There are several variations of the grand pacific Tour, but I'd elect the one I took: with a driver/narrator & a tour manager. I liked the tour that included the trains, as well------good fun and historic merit. I really can't think of much that I'd change: I was comfortable with the pace, the diversity, the free time allotted.
I was really pleased with all the hotels-----for me, location is primary consideration. I was crazy about the Copthorne Harbour, and sadly it may not be used in future for the on-going GP tours. Too bad-----I took advantage of the location to do day trips with Fuller's Ferry----including Waiheke and Rangitoto, and shopping on K' Street/sightseeing with the orange/red/green Circuit buses on Queen------really good value. In walking around Auckland I passed by the CBD Copthorne on Waitangi Day and the other hotel where people will stay and was really glad I was at the Harbour-----the Hilton and Sofitel would be too expensive.
I was well-looked after ---from Kevin at the Auckland meet/greet to the drivers-----Linda C & Paul B and tour leader-----Paul H. I don't take a camera so I don't have photos to send along-----just wonderful memories of a superbly-planned tour.
All best, Bill
Fantastic Holiday. Impressed by the VIP treatment by all Motel/hotel staff and the grand pacific Tours Coach team in particular the driver Chris Hannah. One of our best holidays and will definitely recommend to family and friends. Thank you.
We had a wonderful Highlights of New Zealand coach tour from Feb'7th to 21st 2013. Our coach captains (Alex on South Island and Cole Marsh on North Island) were both superb, very friendly and highly knowledgeable. All our hotels were excellent, with the exception of Heartland Hotel Fox Glacier, which although the food was good, the room was awful. The rooms are in dire need of complete renovation, the bathroom only had a small shower and was so small they had to put the wash-basin in the bedroom! However, the actual tour was very good indeed. We enjoyed travelling with a great bunch of fellow travellers, some of whom will be friends for life, they know who they are! Would certainly book with you again. Thanks Charlie for all your assistance in booking our extra nights in Auckland. Derek and Christine Sanders
Tremendously enjoyed the tour, the only way to visit New Zealand. Great meals good choice of attractions to visit. \the visits to the old steam train are 1 too many, we certainly could have done without, The Plains Vintage Railway to experience a ‘K’88 Steam Locomotive, Your accommodation: Donegal House Donegal, accomodations here were not standard to what we had been given and received the rest of the trip. We hawe build a website so passengers can add to the photos, www.fullcolours.com/NZ Thank you to Nick our tour guide, he was fabulous and the 2 drivers, John and Chris were most amicable and experts drivers. Everywhere we went you're recognized as tops in travel. Bob & Jackie Beauchemin Ottawa Canada Robert.Beauchemin4@sympatico.ca
We had the best holiday ever. Our guide and both drivers were excellent.Nothing we asked of them was too much trouble. The accomodation and meals were of very good quality, and the scenery and tours were magnificent. The whole experience has demanded a return trip. Lyn and Bruce
We thoroughly enjoyed our Tour, which gave us the opportunity to explore the beautiful Islands of New Zealand and make new friends. The Tour provided a wonderful balance of both road, rail and water trasportation. The Driver/Guide of both Islands were skillful and very informative, cheerful and always willing to help. Accommodations and meals were of good standard with the exception of Fox Glacier. The optional tours provided a wide range to suit all tastes. We have very fond memories, which are brought to life with our many photographs taken on tour. We would highly recommend this Tour.
Worked out fine except for my needing a clinic visit in Queenstown for my bronchitis.
