Are you looking for a trip that gets your blood pumping and pulse racing? Or are you someone who would love to see the very best of the South Island including some lesser known destinations away from the tourist trail? If so, this tour will deliver on both fronts.

Christchurch to Lake Tekapo

The city of Christchurch is undergoing a transformation as it rebuilds from the earthquakes that hit the city a few years back.  Your tour leader will take you on a fascinating tour of the city, exploring the history as well as the revitalisation that is taking place, from public art spaces, repurposed buildings, eclectic shops and funky cafes and bars.  After exploring Christchurch you’ll head inland towards the Southern Alps and the alpine lake village of Tekapo, during spring the roadside is awash with colour as flowering lupins line the road.  Arriving into Tekapo, the turquoise waters of the lake have to be seen to be believed, glacier minerals give it a distinct colour so have your camera handy.  Tonight you’re in for a treat as you’re staying in the best place in New Zealand, possibly the world, for magnificent stargazing.
