If your tour is priced in New Zealand dollars, the amount charged by the tour company is usually in NZD. Your bank, card provider or payment platform then converts that amount into your own currency using its exchange rate at the time the payment is processed.
This means the final amount shown on your bank statement can be different from an estimate you made earlier. Exchange rates move daily, and overseas transaction fees may also apply.
Some payment systems may offer to show or charge the amount in your home currency. This can feel convenient, but check the exchange rate and any fee before accepting it. In many cases, paying in the quoted currency lets your own bank or card provider handle the conversion.
